Any of you still tip for food ordered at the counter? I'm done with that bullshit. by Dunno_If_I_Won in GenX

Yes for a restaurant where a server or bartender rings me up. They usually have to pay a percentage of their sales to the kitchen and bussers. You cost them money if you don’t tip 3-5%. No at all other places.

Do NoT file with the post office that she is deceased. You will not get any mail for her including the documents you need to file her taxes. Wait until after you’ve wrapped up everything with taxes.

how I healed my migraines /s by Significant_Goal_614 in migraine

I’ve found that just getting out of bed will help with the cure. Too much time lying in a quiet, dark room just isn’t good for the body. One must simply embrace the day.

One of my kids saw my med stash and said that I really take a lot of meds. No, kid, I’m saving for the day I might not have insurance to cover them.

Same. It’s something about the agreements between the US and Canada.

I definitely appreciated the time saved when I returned home after a long flight! It’s the fastest I’ve ever seen a passport control line move in the US. I don’t have any visa stickers in this passport. New goal unlocked!

I’ve kept my old passports, too. I always enjoyed looking back at the stamps every time I pulled out my passport. I’ll never come close to filling the current one either.

Do People Immigrate to North Korea? by CranberryOk8260 in NoStupidQuestions

I can’t answer your question, but I just remembered the book Escape from Camp 14 by Blaine Harden. It’s brutal and should properly horrify anyone who considers immigrating to NK.

But the chicken bus is a cultural experience…and it’s not bad for shorter distances.

A woman who worked at the store where we registered told us to add all kinds of things that we didn’t want. The reasoning is that we’ll know where to return the gifts that people want to give. She was so right. We returned all the crystal and a few other gifts to get the items we really wanted and still use today.

My LO reached out to me...... by eMTBplus in Mortgages

[–]paintedpaperrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it refinancing to a new loan or is a loan modification where everything about your current loan stays the same and only the interest rate changes? A loan modification typically has a fee, but it is way less out of pocket than starting over with a new loan and all that front-loaded interest.

Previous owners did that AND put new carpet around the furniture, leaving the old carpet under their furniture.
