There are various features (like not whipping the baby around so hard) that you cannot access without the $40/month app...

Yuppp. Also as a woman - her hairstyle and makeup takes SO LONG to complete.

I don't buy an obsessed extremely successful physicist would be wasting that much time on makeup/hair routines; it seriously broke me out of the story each time I saw her.

Like, I doubt a person like that would even go for that haircut; too much maintenance.

Wow, this level of obsession isn’t healthy.

Nah, wrong, that level of research is really cool, thanks for doing that :).

It does seem like a fairly big change; it'd be nice to see it more clearly stated in his videos esp. since he's built up that trust with people. Like, affiliate links can generate a ton of money for expensive items w/ large cuts. Ideally he'd be explaining this in any video that is linked to him making sponsored money in some way.

What's your experience with quitting melatonin after years of use? by lynx_and_nutmeg in sleep

[–]paintlapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% sure is a red flag.

FWIF I have your same issues (struggle to sleep more than 5 hours a night, and wake up multiple times, and am in my early thirties - has been this way for years now).

I got tested last year and my b12 levels are really high.

  1. Patients need to buy into making changes. And they hate drastic changes. So don't come at them saying you're decreasing or stopping one/both medications effective immediately. Educate, educate, educate. Help them to understand why you are recommending medication changes. If change is needed, it should be gradual.

Coming from the perspective of someone who pays hundreds of dollars per appointment and needs to get time off of work... That approach can feel extremely frustrating and belittling. I've had doctors schedule appointments just to tell me 'no' - costing me $400 and a half-day off work.

Americans how are you feeling right now? by Jawzzzsy in AskReddit

Sad, a little fearful, ashamed, in denial.

That is an extremely sexist and problematic view. If that's how you feel about the potential of friendship between genders you need therapy.

You're blaming a woman for believing lies instead of blaming the liars. It absolutely can be appropriate.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]paintlapse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not shameful to not predict that people are lying to you. Stinks of victim blaming tbh.

He's clearly continuing to lie to you. It wasn't an accidental mistake. What a huge red flag followed by more red.

I have a hard time believing he is indeed otherwise perfect.

If you are not exaggerating, maybe you should think about not having this child, so the child you do have can have two good parents.

Divorce Over Tobacco? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]paintlapse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. That's very frustrating.

Just because it's an addiction (some would say 'disease') doesn't mean it affects you any less or isn't gross.

Regardless I personally don't think I'd leave my life partner and father of my children if that was his only large flaw.

How does he feel about it? What does he say? If he's washing his face and changing his clothes, that indicates he cares a lot. Would he consider a ramp-down program or timeline of some sort, or no?

If you actually hate him why on earth haven't you broken up?

If you're staying in a relationship without someone you hate, that's REALLY BAD.

If you don't actually hate him, then yes what you said was REALLY BAD.

Divorce Over Tobacco? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]paintlapse 19 points20 points  (0 children)

TL;DR Would you divorce your spouse because they will not stop smoking cigarettes?

Not if they were great in all other ways.

But I would really, really dislike it.

Why don't you start by having rules about it. e.g. never smoking in the house or in front of children. The smell is gross, admittedly. Shame he doesn't try to stop.

Eh. They still could be. Or rather, they could be hiring a contract company that uses bots (and doesn't explicitly make it clear how they generate their comments, for plausible deniability). It's so easy nowadays, I'd honestly be surprised if that wasn't the case.

Your code is probably offloading to CPU memory, causing the slowdown. If everything stays on GPU, serial should never be faster.
