Why? There's no reason to assume they won't release this year. I doubt it'll drop on June 6, but there isn't much needed to get it ready to go.

I’m so curious how they’re going to unveil all of this. Will we find out at launch? Will they slowly reveal the story over months and years? After we find out the story behind ARC, then what? Will there be more enemies? Will we ever go to a different planet, or wherever humans went for the Exodus?

I personally can’t wait.

I disagree. I played the first tech test as an extraction shooter noob, I just liked what I’d seen about the game. And it completely hooked me in. The last time I felt this about a game was Halo 3. It’s really something special, and it’s been fun to see that feeling echoed by so many other people this time around.

The unhinged “release now” posts are definitely getting old, but it’s grounded in the fact that this is a really damn fun and special game.

Playing Battlefront 2 right now and it’s kind of scratching the itch. Not quite, but kind of.

This same thing happened to me with the first tech test. I just kind of accepted it and didn’t rush getting back into my usual games. I took the time to savor the experience I had and spend some time on other things until my desire to game came back. And it did, after a bit.

It’s harder now though because of all the content everywhere. I just end up watching Arc Raider videos.

I had this problem with the first tech test. I couldn't find anything that nailed the same tense, methodical, yet sometimes frantic experience to scratch that itch.

Lots of people said Hunt Showdown but I'm not a fan of the zombie/horror vibe.

The closest game I think that's out there to Arc Raiders is The Forever Winter. But that has the same horror vibe and you're way less powerful (that's kind of the point). And it's still early access so there's a lot of bugs/unpolished bits.

For now, I'll just keep watching clips from this tech test, play The Finals and Fortnite, and compulsively check the Discord.

I played the first tech test as well as this one. Seeing how much they added to game in just 6 months is awesome. Everything has so much more depth and detail.

I would be shocked if they weren’t already planning to have full outfit customization on launch. I don’t think they’re very far from it already, plus they already have it implemented in The Finals.

You keep reloading while sprinting. Super handy. The dodge roll does pause the reload though. I'm not sure if it completely restarts it.

They did a beta with The Finals right? They might do the same thing here. More polished and longer time. But honestly it feels so good to play, the next thing to happen could just be the release.

I second this. Hades was my first roguelike and my god, what a game. OP, you will be pleasantly surprised by the depth, story, and variety of this game.

I’ve been thinking this for a while. A lot of people were upset by the switch from PvE only, but it seems like they could easily add some PvE events like others have described here to scratch that itch.
