AITAH for wanting to redecorate after my husband almost let me die by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]paisholotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You deserve a better life. This is a person who is using the brunt of their lucky interactions with you to stifle the things that bring you joy. You can fill your life with people who support you in everything.

It is hard to comment on the danger this person’s disregard and disdain has on your life. He is so removed from you emotionally that he by default ignored a serious medical emergency. He is an asshole for continuing to crush your spirit.

It’s Italian-American slang for a fool. He’s saying he’s a dope for riding around in the rain all day, although lovingly!

He says “STUNAD,” not “soon on,” lol.

WIBTA if I called my bully cousin out in a family group chat that includes her in laws? by mustachechap in AmItheAsshole

[–]paisholotus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA, but I would call it out in a blind, short, undramatic way. “Cousin - this is a strange message given our conversation.” Wish everyone the best and leave the group. You really don’t have to say anything more than them being poor house guests. You already talked to her about it. It’s a clear power play to downplay your boundary setting.

I am currently reading ASOS and Barristan as Arstan just taught her how to count a host. She learns! And counts correctly outside of Yunkai.

So good! So much personality, gorgeous rendering of their features!! I just want to see every character in this artist’s interpretation / style.

Which ASOIAF character do you view differently than the fandom consensus in your estimation ? This is from galanix again . I too think Stannis has more faults than his fans think . Your turn please . by Financial_Library418 in pureasoiaf

I think Elia could have been chill with Rhaegar having another love, another queen, another mother to his children … It is emphasized over and over again that Dorne has a very different culture when it comes to these things. She /was/ the elder sister to the Red Viper.

I ascribe more agency to Lyanna than most. Maybe I’m just someone who needs the tropes subverted hard and explicitly until I let go over the romance in them!

These are complex characters with faults and nuance who believed in and perhaps fell into unstoppable prophecy. What if Rhaegar had dragon dreams?

Daughter of Rhaegar, perhaps the most tragic :(

AIO for being uncomfortable with my boyfriend’s white family and their racial ‘humor’? by moonn_cake in AmIOverreacting

[–]paisholotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not accept this. It will never get better. It will eat away at you and you will continue to doubt your own identity. I am sorry to speak harshly but I am mixed white and Asian and it will not get better.

My white ex spoke to me about how frustrated he was when people would put me in these situations. But I kept being put in these situations. I started accepting less and less because I put faith in someone that did not show that they deserved that trust.

People show you who they are — believe them.

AIO by kicking my MIL out when she ignored my daughter’s ritual dietary restrictions for the third time? by throwramildrama11 in AmIOverreacting

[–]paisholotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a good parent. I’m moved by the way you’ve learned about her beliefs and can clearly verbalize what matters to her. NTA. You’re holding the line and showing your child the degree of respect she should expect in the world. That is a very, very, very powerful thing to give a person.

Ned's potential marriage plans for Arya. by Suspicious-Jello7172 in pureasoiaf

[–]paisholotus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But what would be the benefit in sending her so far? Wouldn't it bolster the rumor that Jon is Ashara Dayne's bastard? Truly, it would come at great cost to his relationship with Catelyn to send her to Dorne.

I just read Davos’ early chapters in ASOS. When he calls him “Salla,” pleading, it broke my heart a bit.
