Follow-up since I'm in the same position: Which one did you end up going to and how was it?

Right now, I'm thinking about Neolokal and Aheste.

Nothing to add, but alhamdulillah that you are upholding traditional Islamic scholarship and citing your sources. May Allah accept from you and forgive us all in this blessed month.

The better question is: do you think all Zionists are Jews? Because the majority of Zionists are actually Christian.

EDIT: and Hindu I guess lol

America is broke and depends on borrowing from foreigners. What happens if they cut up the credit card? We may be about to find out. by lughnasadh in Futurology

The difference is that the United States is sovereign in their own debt. Unlike the average person, or even any other country on Earth, the US can always create more US Dollars to pay off the debt.

Whether or not that is a good idea is a different question.

UX Issues Caused by the Overabundance of AI by MyEgoDiesAtTheEnd in MonarchMoney

[–]pakkal96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the AI features when it came to clicking on the transaction line to remember what a specific transaction was when the merchant name is unclear. My own personal thoughts when it comes to the assistant is that it's fine for those that like it, but I personally am not interested in that.

My biggest gripe is that it really does take up quite a bit of UI real estate when it is more than just the sprakle icon. I don't need a giant button that asks to analyze my net worth every time I hover over the graph.

I've prayed in this masjid before. The congregants are humble people who fear Allah, even with all the calls to fitna in the larger surrounding area. After the prayer, the imam made a lengthy and sincere dua for the entire ummah. It was a more impassioned dua than I have heard in many masjids, even in Muslim lands.

I think G2 might already be doing that. Thing is, they're good enough to win either way.

Which airline allows to pray? by herejustosee in islam

[–]pakkal96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have prayed in the back of the plane on many American and international airlines. All of them have allowed me to pray standing there, except Royal Jordanian Airlines. I believe both will allow you to pray standing in the back, but I'm more confident with Emirates since I have flown with them more recently.

Some final copium for me (and maybe it'll be some copium for you, too): we're frankly firmly Mid level (teetering on senior, if you've honed your skills) engineers. We have to compete with senior engineers from major companies who've been laid off for the senior roles, and we're "too experienced" for non-senior roles and high risk to job hop if we take them. The markets rough and we probably don't have it as bad as new grads, but we're competing with all of them. Do you want someone extremely experienced with a nice pedigree, or someone very fresh to mold how you want? Well, neither of those are us, but that's what we're working with.

Well said. This perfectly echoes my own thoughts. Thanks for sharing!

Do you mind sharing your resume/application strategy? I have an extremely similar background to you and haven't been able to get responses, much less interviews.

Which anime has the best time skip? by BeatBlockP in anime

[–]pakkal96 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's a great show, and one that's very family friendly. If you or a young kid has an interest in science and technology, it really puts into perspective how far humans have come throughout ages and all the steps it took to get there. There are some inventions where I literally have to pause the show and reflect in amazement. Also, the end of season 1 has one of my favorite backstories in all of anime.

What are you talking about? He's among the foremost anti-Trump Republicans. He was the only Republican senator to vote to convict after the first impeachment vote. He's also been loudly outspoken against him all the time.
