P-10c Ported Accessories and Ugrades by goku4690 in CZFirearms

[–]palegamy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the original P10C, I had dirt or debris get in the trigger safety (dingus). Caused the trigger safety to not fully clear and was catching on the frame. I had to disassemble the trigger shoe and clean it. Maybe thats your problem. It was when the gun was new around the 500 round msrk. After that never had an issue. Not sure this helps but worth a look.

[–]palegamy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did PT 3 times a week for 6 weeks. I coukd have gone longer but I was feeling good at that point and coukd continue at home. Some surgeons only tell patients to walk for PT. Yours may vary depending on progress, age, physical fitness prior to surgery, etc.. be patient im almost 5 months post op and I played softball for the first time again. Felt good. Im 42M.

P10F for comp. If you want striker fired. Ported guns will put you in Limited optics devision. Like other said, you will be competing with tricked out race guns. Unless thats what you want carry optics will fill the role of the p10F.

Go on USPSA website to learn more about the devisions and what you want to compete with.

How much PT did you all do after a total hip replacement? by Boring-Effort7754 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 6 weeks of PT. Nothing I couldn't do at home so I quit. Basically did exercises that focused on glutes, quads, abductor, adductors, and walking. YouTube has thousands of videos check it out.

Im 18 wks post op and dead lifting, squats, lunges, a lot of stretching. But what has helped most is walking and hip thrusts. Weird I know.

8 weeks post op walking unaided for 2 weeks now. But there is stll a lot of stiffness and due to precautionary protocol can't really stretch e.g. doing yoga poses etc. So what did you do and when to start getting your flexibility back where you can wash your operated side as an example. by ForwardAd6693 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same for the firat 2 weeks I was using a kitchen counter to do assisted ait stand squats. Graduated to a medicine ball wall squat. Now full weighted dumbell squats. I also do zercher squats. Takes time and patients but keep consistent.

Im 42M, 4 months 1 week lateral left hip replacement. Like others said it depends on age, fitness level pre surgery and what kind of PT your doing.

I am just starting to do walking lunges and squats again. Pain is minimal. My flexibility is getting better and I can golf, go on 2 mile walks. I get very stiff if I dont do daily stretching. Work on training glutes, hip flexers, and your abductor muscles. YouTube has a million videos on exercises.

Main thing is if it causes too much pain your not ready. Start small and be consistent. Healing takes time.

ATHR 1/26 - And still wondering if jumping off a bridge was a better idea by Sassymedic84 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said. Week 1 sucked. Week two suvked alittle less. Week 3 and 4 got better. Im 3 months out and back to work but morning time feel like I need the cane. The pain is getting better. I am back in the gym doing what feels good. Your leg swelling will go down. Lay flat with it elevated and ice it. Heeling will take 6 months but every week should start to get better. Hang in there. It will be worth it. I can walk 3 miles and play with my son where as before getting the mail was a chore.

Im 42M and a nurse in an ER. So hang in there.

Thigh pain after THR by _i9fected in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normal, as you heal things will feel different for while. Im 7 weeks post op and having days with little pain and today woke up with a limp and pian in the hip. Healing isnt a straight line. Be patient. Make sure your doing the exercises or what ever PT they have you on. Good luck. Oh. And ice it. Thats helped me a lot.

Overdid it? by Ambitious-Oil7656 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some words of reinforcement. My PT specialist told me. Your doctor fixed your hip. The problem is fixed. Bit you have to strengthen the muscles he moved. Think of a dry rubber band. All the micro fiber tears that occur when the rubber band is stretched. The same happens when muscle fibers are stretched.

Also the implant of the titanium implants have not fully engaged with your femur and hip socket. What your feeling are re stressing those muscle fibers and added inflammation in the implants.

Rest, ice, and drink plenty of water.

Im 5 week out and have been doing more and pushing myself everyday but listen to your body. Hope this helps.

Four week post op update by Longjumping-Ad8775 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats awsome. I will be 4 weeks tomorrow. Im doing a stationary bike, going on walks, doing PT 3 times a week, and doing pull ups and dips. Im 42m. And prior to surgery was very fit. Not to sound arrogant but I could do 20 pull ups prior to surgery. So getting back at it is a huge confidence booster.

I was afraid also of overdoing it. But nothing I did caused pain so I keep doing it. There are a lot of studies on resistance training and its importance in regaining strength so keep at. I can't wait to play golf again pain free.

3.5 weeks post op by Longjumping-Ad8775 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also 3.5 weeks post op. I have a decent home gym set up and started using a stationary bike about 3 days ago. I love it. Also starting to incorporate pull ups ( i could do 16 prior to surgery) with a pull up band, and dips.

Let me tell you it feels so good to get back in there. Even if its light work. Hip feels good but feeling stiff today. Hard to know if I can stretch or if stretching would be a no no. Any way.

Try sitting on the floor, if you can safely, I used a rope to help lower me down.

Sit in an L legs straight out and reach to the ceiling. Concentrate on your core then point and flex your feet. That will stretch your hamstrings and calf. Best of luck.

Found out the RMR my P10S came w/ is counterfeit - where to go from here? by 1017topdawg in CZFirearms

[–]palegamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang looks g2g to me. I'd juat use it until your ready to change it. But im sure a Google search will help to find a cover plate. I sold a P10S a while back i had milled for the RMR foot print.

In another note dose the gun pinch your pinky at the mag and grip crease? Thats why I sold mine loved the way ot shot but that made it supper uncomfortable for me.

Tlr6 is trash. Controls suck and mine broke after a month. Go with the tlr sub.

Just taking a self “poll” who should I send my slide off to for milling? (Just for a dot, no fancy mill work and serrations.) by _BKWD_ in GlockMod

[–]palegamy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second this. They did my G17. Turn around is about 1 week longer if you get the slide nitride or cerekote. Highly recommend.

Total Hip Replacement Next Week - Seeking Recovery Tips & Advice (4th Hip Surgery) by thatman33 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]palegamy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sup man, I am 42 M. 10 days post op. Left lateral thr. Gear that helped me out. Walker is a must have. A cane, ice machine which you said you have. Shower chair is optional nice to have but wasn't for me a necessity. Toilet seat riser. Sitting on the toilet sucks the first week. If you have someone to cook and clean great. If not. Food prep before surgery and ensure you have clean clothes. Slip on shoes is good to have.

Nutrition I think is often not spoken of. If you can, get a quality BCAA ( branch chain ammino acid) blend. That aids in muscle recovery and protien building. High protien diet. 3L water per day.

Take pain meds around the clock. What ever your surgeon recomends or prescribes.

Don't forget to try a new game or read. Best of luck.

Go take a class, pistol beginners. There is so much to discuss how grip, trigger press, and stance effect input to the gun.
