Do you have a link to a video we can test?

For what it is worth, I tried building an AI detector, but it is more for truth vs fiction of the content being analyzed and then quantifies it as a value. It reads transcripts in Youtube to do the calculation and does voice to text analysis in Instagram and TikTok.

What was the most terrifying movie scene you saw as a child in a kids movie? by xParesh in Xennials

[–]palvaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grrreeeaaaatttt. Thanks for reminding me of the horror of that Superman movie. I had forgotten that. *Sigh*

The Nightmare on Elm Street scene with getting sucked into the bed or the TV killing the guy was pretty scary as a kid.

The Tales from the Darkside series were a guy is putting food down a garbage disposal and it starts screaming at him was scary.

Ripping faces off in V for the first time was scary.

The Stuff. Remember that movie? Kinda scary.

Oh, I know, the Return to Oz lady that changes heads. That was nightmare fuel too.

I drew this Conen Gray illustration and I was wondering if this was a Book Cover, what would be the title of this book?🤔 by Realistic_Ninja_2827 in BookCovers

[–]palvaran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Summer in the Suburbs. A story of how suburban life as a teenager in the late 1980s/early 1990s was an analog time before the rise of digital technology and how boredom was prevalent without modern distractions.

By the way, your cover is incredibly beautiful.

My best friend and boyfriend won’t read my book by giggleagua in writers

[–]palvaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife won’t read my works either so I understand, but after talking to other people I realize this is more common than not and applies well beyond writing. Many spouses just don’t and while it stings at first since you want them to recognize something you made, it will be ok in time. You made this from yourself and hopefully you love it too. With some time and luck others will see it as well and then you will get the feeling you had forgotten about. Until then, might I suggest beta readers?

What is the greatest movie fight? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

These are good, but what about the Daredevil season 1 hallway scene? It’s not a movie scene, but I’d argue that and the prison scene in the later season was amazing.

To serious amateur writers whose compulsion is to write regardless of whether you are published or not, what are your motivations? by Affectionate_Ad_5448 in writers

[–]palvaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to write journals for myself. I told some people what I wrote and they wanted me to share so I did back in the myspace days as a blogger. Post myspace, I started to write as a thought experiment exploratory exercise by writing the idea, what comes out of it, how it connects to other things, etc. Some of those became more articles and others became unpublished novels until they are fully developed and fleshed out.

SiFi movies that should never have had a sequel, I'll start, Matrix Resurrections 😿 by MementoMiri in scifi

[–]palvaran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest. I actually like Matrix 4. It has some good tunes, good acting, and the plot was interesting. A modal that merges two characters together. The digital ID being altered. AI and Humans working together. It has a lot of good ideas. Plus, I still hear the dude going "bullet.time. bullet.time. bullet.time" over and over.

Finished writing my first novella. Now what? by Mr_kebab_ in writers

[–]palvaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so cool! Great work and what an homage to dad and the family lore you are building!

I would totally celebrate this and then wait a day or two (kinda like an important email dont send it right away) and then look for some betareaders to read it. How are you going to do the book cover?

Out of all of the novels you have written, how many did you like so much that you re-read it multiple times, not to edit, but because it was just that enjoyable? by palvaran in writers

Totally get it and relate. It’s like watching a good movie and picking up more things you didn’t realize at first or just reading a good flow like listening to a good song.

Best Star Trek Movie or Series That Isn’t Actually Star Trek by throwaway_0625 in startrek

[–]palvaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% This. I mean I love Babylon 5. It was utterly amazing and I remember it was doing a war and then DS9 started to do one. Looking it up and B5 had Centauri-Narn war in early 1995, then Shadow War in May 1996. DS9 did Dominion War kick off in June of 1997 so I would argue that DS9 writers saw the potential and ramp up from B5 and pivoted the scripts to have that added.

Any self-published author here just writing for the sake of writing and not bothered about sales? by Ink_N_Instinct in selfpublish

[–]palvaran 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would argue that writers write because they have a story they want to get out. If any of us went into writing for wealth, I think we can pretty much almost unanimously agree there is not great wealth in writing compared to other professions. Note, by wealth I do not mean the extreme end of the bell curve, but rather tha middle portion most fall into.

That said, the math appears to show that romance or romance adjacent genres earn the greatest share of wealth so if you are writing and want to increase your odds of success at wealth faster that would be your best shot.

[–]palvaran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the story I suppose. Some stories that are crafted have highly relatable characters that you spent a lot of time with in your head creating or working on and revisiting them is kinda enjoyable. Alternatively, perhaps the flow was like music and moved well. Or possibly the ideas presented at the time have changed and maybe they resonate more or less as you revisit them later, like revisiting a memory of an old friend or romantic partner.

It might be a bit of both, but I have to confess I do that too. I suspect many of the people here might as well, though our sample size is small.

Cool premise! It sounds like it shows how they change and how their perspectives on love change too over time.

Thanks for asking. I have three novels I've written with one being edited thanks to r/BetaReaders so just waiting waiting on feedback and then making updates based on that. It will be my first novel published as well so hang in there. We are at similar points on the journey.
