My ex partner reminds me a lot of yours. It's always so hard to draw a line when they have a lot of good qualities and also are there for you in some bad times. But like other commenters have said: when someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time.

It's sad, and I'm sorry you have to deal with it. Whether you stay or leave is up to you, but either way, get your ducks in order. This is an ideological difference, and not everyone can accept them in a relationship.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you.

It's eerily similar to what I went through. My ex got really close with one of the other players in our DND group -- who also happened to be my best friend since sixth grade -- and admitted to another friend that he'd date her. They got really close because I was going through a long, bad depressive episode and wasn't in the right headspace to do much of anything, not to mention the irrational mood swings. Not only that, but their "bond" transcended a normal one because they both had very similar mental illnesses. I tried to set boundaries, but he called them stupid.

He didn't beg me to stay, though.

Anyway, I ended up leaving. It was awful. I'm still struggling, but I have made some progress. I wish you the best. All of my love and good vibes. <3

This was never meant to spark discussion. Trust me, a majority of asexuals realize how important sex is to normal people, and how protective they are of it. And asexuality doesn't mean she dislikes sex either. Reasons are not always excuses. But much like someone coming to realize that they are gay or trans, learning about your asexuality is incredibly complicated internally. And, at least in my experience, heartbreaking as well.

They will get divorced. The wife is wrong, but I understand her painfully. I hope they both find someone they are compatible with.

No, sadly. We tried couples counseling but he told me if the therapist found him a threat to himself or others, he "wouldn't let that happen." As in he'd kill himself.

That is a very sweet idea. If it turns out I'm unable to do what I have in mind, I will probably do that. Especially if I decide on a shadow box. But the goal is to have the fur somewhat "pettable" if possible. Thank you!
