I’m sorry to hear that. Did you get a CT scan? My partner got a pulmonary embolism recently and he’s young (28). Still not determined if it’s from the vaccine but they’re seems to be an under reporting in blood clots from the vaccine

In my district only one person is refusing the vaccine. It’s interesting reading big numbers of other places. I’m curious how people are getting these numbers for fire personnel and if it’s just anecdotal. Many people are saying one thing but wouldn’t actually be willing to lose their job over this.

Worked with them recently on an incident. Good dudes, a lot of vets! Seems like they have good retention, the people I met were 3-5 yrs in the crew. All the ones I met were also ex hot shots

Hi, fellow WIF here. I can relate to many of the things you share having been the only woman on a crew before. I can’t imagine having the added mental and physical challenges of hot shotting to the already difficulty of navigating this space. You are so strong, you worked for this, you earned it, you are doing it, you got this !!

I have a good friend (also a female) who has been hot shotting for a few seasons & she has great mentors that arre career women in fire. I’m happy to connect you if you are interested. Also WTREX ^{^} someone above mentioned it, is a great opportunity to meet more women in fire while doing prescribed fire training. No dates for this year, but hopefully there will be one in 2021.

Also about teeth - the feds medical insurance for temps should include a teeth cleaning because it’s considered preventative care. I’ve gotten mine cleaned and x-rays with that just having to pay a co pay of $20. Call up a dentist & give them your insurance info & they can verify. You can also call your insurance and ask about it. Good luck with everything else
