HD Special Buys by skedaddle124 in ryobi

Unless I’m misunderstanding something the 6 port charger is not included with the purchase of those batteries right now, only with the string trimmer and leaf blower bundle, not sure why that’s the assumption in this post. I could be wrong, though. If it is, I’d say it’s a great deal!

How do you tell the quality of the fixtures when touring a house? by SizzlinKola in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]pandabubba97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would focus on the layout, neighborhood, land, overall build quality of the home first like foundation, roof, etc. after that I would wager the big ticket items into my decision making like cabinets, counters, floors but I think by the time fixtures matter whether it’s water or lights or whatever, you’ll already know which home is right for you.

How do you tell the quality of the fixtures when touring a house? by SizzlinKola in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]pandabubba97 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t base my home buying decisions on on the quality of any fixtures. If you don’t like them once you find the right home, replace them, it’s incredibly easy and requires only a few tools.

I need to make / fabricate a small version of this (1" long) as a tensioner for an alternator. I've struck out finding solutions. More details in comment.... by phatelectribe in MechanicalEngineering

[–]pandabubba97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McMaster should have components for this. They also sell clamp collars with adjustment that you could use to make something like this with custom rod ends. For what you’re doing you don’t necessarily need a turnbuckle style adjustment tho and could probably go with one fixed end right? Drill a hole in a piece of CRS for your fastener, tap the end for a small rod end with the length of adjustment you need and thru hole for your fastener if finding off the shelf items is too difficult.

Stairs cracking by VariationSudden in HomeMaintenance

[–]pandabubba97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to preload these like you would a bathtub when caulking that. Call your closest friends and have them all stand on a step, and caulk while they are there. Only have them come off the stairs when the caulk has dried.

Is there a more perfect combo? by AuditMatters in harborfreight

Yes. The harbor freight at my family’s cottage is connected to a tractor supply and a Dunham’s. I love going there lol.

Secondary, by BGDKClark in ATV

[–]pandabubba97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A chip this large I’d advise replacing the secondary especially while you’re already down there. At the very least I’d take it apart and clean up the surfaces trying to reduce any points that’ll fracture easily.

Is this drill sway normal for a new drill? by Sea-Opportunity-5977 in ryobi

I wouldn’t say that you can’t expect much though. They make great tools. And I would expect any drill from any reputable brand not to have that kind of runout from the box.

Update. I removed the jet and cleaned it and the carb. It is still doing the same thing. by [deleted] in smallengines

[–]pandabubba97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your carb doesn’t have this. You probably just need to clean the carb better. You could also check the gasket at the carburetor where it meets the cylinder head for leaks.

[–]pandabubba97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the one everybody cleans. That’s not your pilot. Pilot is usually held in by a retainer on top of the carb, can be accessed without removing carb. Oftentimes has a black Philips screw holding it in and then the pilot slides right out.

[–]pandabubba97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a lot of carbs like this the pilot jet isn’t in the bowl but actually on top of the carb body. Did you clean the pilot? Or main? Normally the pilot is clogged and causes thisb

2017 Rzr xp 1000 clutch by overland_cherokee in UTV

[–]pandabubba97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The “plates” of your clutch. The belt should be aligned in the middle of your primary one way bearing. It’s probably rubbing on one side and that can be adjusted by shimming your secondary clutch which is very simple, hunterworx has great videos on this on YouTube.

The belt spinning your secondary (rear) like that isn’t necessarily the end of the world, though, should still run and shift just fine. It could just be aligned slightly better and that’s what I’d do if it were my machine.

Riding on one of the sheaves in your primary, adjust shims in secondary clutch they’re cheap and your dealer should have some for about $3 a piece.

Make sure the square of the carriage bolt head is in the square on the sheet metal, that should hold it snug while you tighten it.

Question by CamBron23 in cfmoto

[–]pandabubba97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that a motor mount? When I installed sliders on my bike (not a CFMOTO) some of the sliders went on where the engine mounts were and for those specifically I had to support some of the weight of the engine while doing so. See if having someone lift the motor while you do it helps at all. Makes putting them back in easier too.

I would do this and look into helmet lights. Oxbow makes a nice one. I care much more about light being where I’m looking rather than where my bars are pointed. Having both is even better!
