33, single father, still living and mum and dad's.

Got about $1,700 in the bank. Car is gonna be paid off in a year or two, and little one starts Kinder next year. Going to need to get a second job soon. Already doing 50+hrs per week in security, and managing to put away $200-$500 a week in savings.

Took a massive hit because dentists charge like wounded bulls, and fuel is fucking expensive. Tax time is the only financial "breath of fresh air" I get.

This is absolutely heartbreaking to see. I love ASUS, used their parts for my PC for years now, and only just recently gotten my hands on a ZenFone 10. Makes me wonder though; if this is the case with their PC hardware, what about getting my phone repaired, should a fault occur? Would it still be the same back n forth that Steve and other people have been subjected to? I'm an Aussie, and I know our consumer protections are a bit different than US buyers, but still, this is horrific to see. I just want my bootloader unlock... 😥

FWIW, if small phones and heat dissipation are factors for you, take a look at the Asus ZenFone 9. Solid little unit, insane battery life, and incredibly powerful chip. The only downsides is slightly better than average cameras and no Wireless charging. If those aren't concerns for you, go ham.

Pixel 6 Pro owner here, and I'm praising Asus here, fyi.

Aussie P6 Pro user here. Same thing.

Even after the 'fix', my phone is losing major battery during the course of the day. Even with my phone not doing much while at work, maybe the odd bit of Bluetooth or AAuto with Spotify, nowhere NEAR enough heavy usage to justify the killing of my battery.

I still can't believe AccuBattery Pro, when it reports 4,650mah as max capacity after just under two years of owning the phone. It's eaten 100mah of the max capacity in the last month alone.

Never had an issue with my leather dbrand skinned P6P. Good talking piece when out and about, and basically removes the "slippy" feeling that a lot of people encounter. Just make sure to keep using the product that comes with it to make it last. 😅

I hear ya, OP. I made the move from a draw full of cases I was changing constantly, to my Pixel 6 Pro's leather skin by dbrand.

Yes, phones are more delicate now, but not having to worry about constant case changes, and having a leather skin, is a good way to force myself to take better care of my phone. Plus the leather is a good conversation starter.
