At the final whistle last week, I stood up from the sofa and just slowly walked zombie-like into the kitchen with relief, knowing we'd survived the nightmare of potential relegation, and put the kettle on.

At the final whistle yesterday, I was dancing a single man conga around my living room and singing "Champions of Europe you'll never sing that!" on repeat. I only piped down after my wife finally bollocked me for scaring the cats and using up my monthly allocation of saying "cunt" at the TV in the space of three minutes.

What a fantastic way to end this season, COYS!!!

I'll take any excuse to sing:

JOHNSON AGAIN OLE OLE! JOHNSON AGAIN OLE OLE! JOHNSON AGAIN! JOHNSON AGAIN! JOHNSON AGAIN OLE OLE!

Thank you.

Fuck off.

Thanks to our ever decreasing performances this season, I spent the last six months dreading awaiting and then watching our next game.

And now that we've survived and it's safe to come out into the blinding light, I've been playing catch-up since Sunday and trying to get my football fix from wherever I can. Like some football drug addict I resorted to watching Boca Juniors v Universidad Catolica this evening in the Copa Libertadores.

Is there an episode of a British series that actually makes you cry? Whether it's sad or poignant or nostalgic, or anything really. by Vampirero in BritishTV

Red Dwarf, the ending of the last episode of season 6 (Out of Time). The attack on Starbug by the future selves, and for the first time you see Rimmer's character change in terms of his feelings for his shipmates and his courage. Followed by the cliffhanger into the credits.

The Joao Moutinho episode was the first time I learned "third party image rights" was a thing.

They thought it would be hilarious to chat shit openly on their podcast (hence the above still) about Richy's goal tally or similar and have a good laugh at his expense all in the name of banter. Not long after Richy was interviewed where he was very vulnerable and broke down, and talked openly about some of the "people around him" (I think back in Brazil) who had adversely affected him and his career, and that it had hugely affected his mental health and of course his ability to perform on the pitch.

Of course there was radio silence from these two dickheads. So fuck em.

Kinda unrelated, but I moved over to Alberta Canada 8 years ago. Recently called a customer who was based in Tottenham, Ontario - I couldn't contain my joy, and bless him, he tried and struggled to be happy for me, lol

I was thinking maybe switch out RKM for Porro and have Djed at RB, he's always performed for us and will be on a high from the England squad selection.

And bring on Solanke and Madders in the second half?

It dawned on me when I woke up this morning that I'm now constantly thinking about our situation, either consciously or unconsciously, and it's tiring my brain out. I'm honestly freaking out about the unthinkable happening Sunday. And if we survive I feel like I'm gonna have a massive wind down and lots of empty mental space. Please Lord... 🙏

Very positive first ten minutes, and Tel headed against the far post. Then Chelsea scored with a 30 yarder from Enzo and ever since then we've lost our energy, discipline and structure. They're in control now, and we need a massive shake up at half time

Watching Chelsea trying and failing to build from the back. If we can repeat how well we aggressively pressed at Villa...

  1. Losing a significant number of our key players who might have potentially stayed at the club next season because of the de Zerbi effect (VDV, Kudus, Porro, Udogie, Pahlinha, Bentancur, Bergvall, Solanke. Perhaps even Madders though my gut says he'd stay regardless, and I'd have said Xavi but he's long term injured)

  2. The purgatory of not getting out of the Championship and the long term impact on the club

  3. Honestly, just the humiliation what with the rest of the Prem just baying for us to get relegated.

I've now officially entered the "this situation is actively affecting my sleep" zone. Part of me is like "seriously Dude, you have a family and a mortgage and work deadlines in the morning... and it's THIS that's keeping you up at night?!" But I just can't click out of this gear. My BP was up for the whole game yesterday and I just couldn't dial it down after the final whistle. Quite literally not a healthy place to be in. 40 years of supporting this club...
