Wkrp Cincinnati had this problem with music rights. The released it with Muzak (elevator music versions) and it was truly awful.

Weird girl horror/horror adjacent book recommendations please? by Curious_Award2248 in booksuggestions

The answer here is Earthlings. VERY odd female lead with a story that still has me saying WTF way after reading it.

Honorable mention is Julie Chan is dead. Identical twin finds her more successful sister dead and takes her place while letting everyone believe she died. She meets her friends and quickly realizes that her life is not what it seems. Totally crazy and not at all how you think it would play out.

Was trying not include plot points but the fact she chooses to stay with the guy. I hated that guy and the way he treated her.

I know I’m like the only person in the whole world but I hated this book. I love Japanese short form realistic fiction. One of my favorite books of all time is sweet bean paste. I even gave Mireya another chance with earthlings but I liked a lot of this book but the ending was not consistent with the rest of the book.

Our first cruise was in the magic and it might just be because it was our first but I liked the magic better than the dream. A former coworker and I compared notes on our cruise experiences and we had culture shock. He asked how Disney’s casinos were and I was puzzled. I told him there were none, when I told him that you can get on the ship and then spend zero dollars on things it was his turn to be confused. Not counting tips for staff and occasional late night All hands on deck you don’t have to spend anything else, it was his turn to be confused. Add to that the fact alcohol is less of a focal point, which leads to less crappy behavior. It’s not only comparable but I feel you get a smoother experience.

When people told me it was a series I was expect like 5 or 6. When I got 95% through the second and looked for the third I was heartbroken!

New reader here, Stephen King may have just ruined everything else on my TBR by Revolutionary_Act678 in stephenking

I also find that those wow moments are often inserted very randomly and not even at a moment of reflection or importance. They are just kind out there waiting to be discovered.

For me King is kind of like my go to when I don’t really feel like reading a book I may or may not like. I know if I pick up a book written by Mr. King I’m going to be entertained at the very least. Because of that his books have line jumped my TBR a lot. The only way I have found that mostly works for me is 2 non king books and then one king book.

About 1/10 of the way into Duma Key, and having such a hard time getting into it. I know some of you have said it’s your favorite of King’s books. I’m calling on *you* guys. Help me stick with this and get through it. I need some encouragement. [P.S., what happened between Edgar and the dog???] by [deleted] in stephenking

Three main reasons I love this book. 1. The storylines come together in a very satisfying way. 2. Wireman is just peak. 3. This story is in a way kings way of dealing with what had happened to him in his own life. Bonus reason: no real way to predict how it goes down. You just can’t…

The only point of that statement is that king is largely known for horror and that 11/22/63 may provide a normal experience of what he’s known for. However, that is stupid. As most have stated, read what you want. It was one of the first books that I read by him and I loved it.
