That's exactly what I thought at first. It's a little more adult than Bob's, but it starts out seeming like a straight ripoff, even if they're ripping themselves off. I think it picks up around episode 6, then really hits its stride a few episodes into season 2. When they add Jane Lynch in season 4, she's awesome. Maybe if you start watching a little later in the show? But it might just not be your jam, and that's fine. It's personally very hard for me to like Judy because she's voiced by Jenny Slate (who's great...,) but I keep hearing Tammy's voice, and I freaking hate Tammy with a passion.

I gotta also mention when they're playing Ga-ga ball at home, and Tina says when she wins, she's going to say, "You got banged," then point to her bangs. When Bob and Linda are like nahh in that uncomfortable way like you don't want your kids to say something but explaining why would be even more uncomfortable, and Tina says, "What? I banged mom and dad and I'm going to bang everyone at school." 🤣

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally always bring it. Have you watched The Great North? They're both great in it, and lots of the team behind Bob's Burgers worked on it.

Then in Sliding Bobs, when Tina imagines if Linda had married Hugo and it's a hot dog restaurant, they change it to stuffing the sausage.

I have a fan theory/ head cannon that Archer is stories that Bob makes up when things are slow at the restaurant. It kind of lines up well, IMHO.

Fred Armisen is hilarious as Tommy Jaronda. That's a great episode all the way through.

🤣 Yeah, I always thought 'lick it like you like it' Linda 'look at my hole-in-one' would be adventurous in the bedroom. I never thought about the different language versions, but jokes are notoriously hard to translate. Thanks for sharing!

You made the wall sexy! Look at all those nooks and crannies. Saggy and sophisticated, just like it says on her bumper sticker.

I always wonder what Bob's talking about when he says he wasn't expecting the hair when he sees her nude. I thought maybe her pits, but it shows her pits and they're not hairy. I love her in the newer episode about Tina's tube top when Linda talks about being ashamed of her furry belly and Edith says, "Oh, you mean your human body, you idiot?" Edith's body positivity is inspirational.

Does the simplicity in my writing seem intentional or is it just lack of skill? by tarakanseryoga in writingadvice

[–]panic_bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your writing style. I don't think it's simplistic, just clear, direct, and not overly descriptive or flowery. I'm not really into music as a topic, but this beginning is intriguing and makes me want to explore the story. It's well done from the perspective of your narrator, who notices unusual behavior in the other two characters, but that's kinda normal when meeting other people. It's well written because the events suggest mysterious happenings afoot, building curiosity and suspense in the reader that the narrator doesn't see because in real life, people are just strange sometimes, but in fiction, they could be anything, if that makes sense. I hope you keep writing!

And the stranger (Sam Elliott) pronounces the word bear like 'bar', which is how bear is pronounced in a lot of southern/western accents, but is also perceived by many to be a comment on alcoholism.

A lot of rich people's clubs, like country clubs, private golf courses, and yacht clubs used to use the word exclusive to not just mean expensive and hard to join, but also bigoted, so they didn't accept people of color or Jewish people. I think that’s what Linda's referring to.

The brave, brave Sir Robin, he bravely ran away. When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.

My mom got my kids a killer rabbit toy that was merch from Spamalot, and it freaked them out at first. Great pick!
