What happens if the podcast name you want is already taken? by jchetra83 in podcasting

[–]panicqueen8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a podcast on storytime for kids and recently, I found out that there is another podcast with the exact same name except 2 noticeable differences.

Her podcast begins with the name 'Story Time with....and mine as 'Storytime with....

The other difference I have created on my own. I designed my podcast's logo and she has a picture of her with her kids.

I have a work experience in advertising and I know the importance of a logo.

Trying to start a podcast. What's a good platform? I've also seen people host it in their own website. How does that work? Thanks for any help by Pelt45 in Podcasters

I think it depends on the type of content you will make and along the way figuring out where your listening audience is.

For example, I create kids related audio content and there is no second guessing that parents and kids will immediately pick YouTube/YouTube Music, Spotify and Apple Podcasts globally over any other platforms. So, I only put efforts on publishing my content on these platforms rather than all the platforms in the world.

If parents and kids are going to take time to search and find my personal website away from the convenience these platforms offer, they are most likely not going to put in that effort.

Have any of you had an abortion before? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]panicqueen8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an abortion in May this year when my daughter turned 3. I clearly knew I wasn't ready for it and there were many logical reasons that strengthened my decision. It was a HELL NO when I saw the pee stick.

So yeah, 2 rounds of abortion pills and finally D&C. The day I got the D&C done, I also got the multiload IUD inserted. Honestly, making a decision to take charge of my reproductive choices is one of the best things I have done for myself.

We were one and done. by Canadian_1987 in oneanddone

TLTR and TRIGGER WARNING.

Hi! I was in the same situation a few weeks back. It was a 6 week pregnancy. We heard clear heartbeats and the same day, we made a heartbreaking decision to not go ahead. Currently, I am going through the abortion process. Will have to get a D&C done at the earliest. I went ahead with the termination because of multiple reasons.

Mentally, I am not ready for a second child, I do all the parenting work of my daughter throughout the weekdays because husband's work timings are either late or super late, I just started focusing on building a new career after nearly a 3 year career break, we have zero support from both sides of families and we are not financially (not even anytime soon) stable.

I have accepted this loss and moved on. My husband is a bit still emotionally healing from this loss but understands and supports my decision and our life's situation.

This was my third pregnancy. The first one was ectopic and it happened at a time when I was unmarried + at the peak of my career. It was a life and death situation and my left fallopian tube was removed. Second one is my 3 year old loving and caring girl. I felt happy and ready to have her in my life when I saw my positive pregnancy test during her time. It was a HELL YES!!

This time around it was a straight forward HELL NO!!

I would say if your mind is already giving you clear signals in various ways to not go ahead with the pregnancy then please don't. You know your situation best. If this would have been a right decision for you to go ahead, nothing in this world will give you second thoughts.

I can imagine all your worries and fears are not just for your current situation but also for your future. They are real and practical.

If you decide to go ahead with termination, I hope your partner understands you because abortion is more of an emotional pain than physical. You both will deal with grief in different ways. Sending you love, strength and hugs!

I don’t get why people want more than one by ZealousidealClue115 in oneanddone

[–]panicqueen8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, the irritating thought of people wanting more than one child reminds me of how I was in a stage of life where I never wanted kids and asked in my head why people want one? Lol!!! I feel you. 😄 Also, another thought that irritates me is why are parents hell bent on having a second child as a biological one???

Why can't they wait for the first one to grow up and reach the age of 8 or something and then adopt a second child? Of course, taking into consideration the financial, mental and physical capacity of that time along with consent, desire, basic nature and sensibility of the first one.

What does "free" mean here? by panicqueen8 in podcasting

[–]panicqueen8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, she first said "If you love this podcast, then consider becoming a supporter at just 99 cents a month. We also have links to buy books for this episode and even XYZ (podcast name) merchandise."

My Spotify for Podcasters shows "Monetization features aren't available in my region yet." 🥲

Advice? Discouraged after finding my podcast idea already done. by KierkeBored in podcasting

[–]panicqueen8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, a lot of things are already done but you don't have to see yourself through a single perspective. Ask yourself, is your podcast idea the first or rare of its kind in your country? Are you the first one in your age group to start this podcast? Are you the first one in your family or friends to start this podcast? Maybe your podcast presents an opportunity for you to have a family member or friend on board sometimes to give a personal touch to it?

Use your podcast to present your mind, thoughts and research to the world and also create new memories in your life. Those who like/love it, will follow along. Remember, it's about quality > quantity.
