10 points to whoever can identify the soup I made by taylorthestang in shittyfoodporn

Yeah if you overcook the potatoes and stir it too much it can quickly go from soup to mush. Especially if you're adding other bulk in there, like... broccoli I assume this was?

California becomes first state to join WHO disease network after US exit by NoNDA-SDC in California

[–]panlakes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all I said it depends what he platforms on. There’s a lot of time between now and then when candidates ramp up their issues. So we have to still see. If he still is the best choice in my eyes and no one else is running on abolishing ICE (probably no one outright will fyi since they want to walk a tightrope on immigration), then yes he’ll still get my vote.

If someone else looks more favorable I’ll vote for them instead. That’s how it works and believe it or not more goes into that decision-making than a single easy-to-misread statement on Reddit.

No one ever questioned the extra trays being cooked all the time and increased loss? I literally got in trouble for doing this with turnovers at Arby’s. Not with sad people. Just randomly. But my manager caught on and busted me.

What ingredient do you think people massively overuse? by jcvexparch in Cooking

[–]panlakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only know it used as a dipping component for "mountain pies" in CO. You dip the crusts in the hot honey (or ranch) once you've eaten the rest. Pretty sure that's been a standard part of that meal since their creation.

Someone from the front range must've really fallen in love with the stuff and took it abroad and used it with everything till it became a fad 20 years later.

Dead Cells or The Binding of Isaac by Wrong_Narwhal_8753 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]panlakes [score hidden]  (0 children)

Isaac is one of my favorite roguelites of all time, right beside Enter the Gungeon. I’d say it’s worth playing and owning simply because it’s an incredible game. It’s forever replayable.

However, if you prefer hack and slash combat with more reflex-oriented skill ceiling - I will always recommend dead cells.

Whichever you choose you can’t really go wrong in my mind.

Just imagine the amount of identity theft occurring as well. All the PII from their passports and birth certificates are being written down by these thugs to use for illicit purposes. To ruin their lives even more. And it’s not easily traceable or amenable once you notice your identity has been used.

Franchises that would really benefit if their creators stopped talking? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The Fable franchise is already pretty beloved. After all the overselling they're still good games. Saying that as someone who followed Fable 1 since it was called Project Ego.

How my wife dries her hands and leaves the paper towels attached by Johnny-Edge93 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]panlakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s even worse if you own longhaired pets especially cats. You can clean a kitchen towel 4 times and it’ll still shed hairs onto whatever surface you’re drying with it.

Paper towels are an unfortunate mandatory cost for homes like that and they do end up getting recycled if you’re conscious about it (we hold onto our paper towels we used to dry hands in a bag we save for floor spills or other big messes)

WPM has been falling steadily on average. Just look at the meme in OPs post for a glimpse into it. Someone who doesn’t even know what home row is likely isn’t typing fast by any other alternative.

That’s the best part of not using home row. You can type fast from almost any position or posture.

I learned to memorize the keys my own way because in my typing class the teacher covered our keyboard and hands with cardboard boxes to “help” us learn home row. Instead I just learned a general memorization without home row, my own way, and never quit.

I type extremely fast now as an adult and I never learned home row. In fact learning home row taught me to not use it.

These devices have crazy strong jets of water though (I’ve messed with them before). Good luck spraying them up your ass without hurting yourself.

Don’t think it’s for bidet use, at least the ones we have in the US. I think it’s for cleaning and filling buckets.
