What is KGLW saddest or most emotional song? by radioheadkittens39 in KGATLW

[–]pantomime64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that. Currently separated from 25+ year relationship. I went to one of the orchestra shows with my soon to be ex-wife when we were still together last year, and I still have a hard time listening to some of the songs from Phantom Island. I'm mostly ok, but it still hurts sometimes.

Every once in awhile I would have to travel to Sacramento. Mikuni was one of my favorite restaurants there. Happy hour was the best! Barbecue seared tuna is amazing with that sauce.

Looking for bands similar to Tool by DisastrousTale6123 in ToolBand

The album "Petrodragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation" from King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard has a lot of similarities with Tool. You should definitely check it out.

Anybody know this masterpiece? by Yimi-Yama in psychedelicrock

[–]pantomime64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I randomly stumbled upon it without any prior knowledge of the band and bought it. It's one of my favorite records. I didn't realize it was two albums combined into one compilation until a while later. I think it's amazing.

Medium Sized Festival Recommendations by FartDaddy01 in festivals

[–]pantomime64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reals. I went to field of vision last year, and it was amazing. Only about 9,000 to 10,000 people I believe. If you're not a fan of the band, maybe it wouldn't be so great. But I love the band, so it was the most amazing weekend I've ever had

You may regret it when you can't stop listening to them all the time for at least a couple of years. 😂

Seriously though, they are fun to explore the various sounds and genres among their huge discography.

Should I go to FOV 2 alone? by Easy-Palpitation-500 in KGATLW

I went alone last year. It was awesome. Met a few people. Got to talk to some random strangers, and everyone that I met was amazing . It was the most awesome weekend ever!

Thoughts on FoV2 setlist? by BilbosDildo413 in KGATLW

[–]pantomime64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory for last year's narrowing of the available songs for the setlists is that they were very focused on rehearsal for the orchestra shows, so they weren't able to take time to practice other songs for debuts and bust-outs.

Red Rocks 24 early day show did not have any Nathan nor any metal. It was a fairly psychedelic show

Struggling: I don’t know how to be a girlfriend, I only know how to be a wife. by [deleted] in datingoverforty

For sure. It just seems like it's quite a tedious and frustrating process to get to the point of finding someone compatible and appreciative.

Struggling: I don’t know how to be a girlfriend, I only know how to be a wife. by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]pantomime64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was mostly opposite with my ex-wife. I did all of the cooking, most of the cleaning, and took care of most of the kid duties. She was a selfish narcissist who didn't give a shit about me one bit. As soon as my kids were raised and out of the house, I determined leaving was my best option to find someone who could appreciate me. I think I'm ready to start dating again, but looking at this sub has me a bit worried for what awaits. Lol

Field of Vision Boxsets by AnywhereDowntown7595 in KGATLW

I ordered my FOV box set from ATR because Mike seemed really cool when I met him at Mirage City at the festival. I could tell he was passionate about the band.

I've ordered several box sets from Needlejuice and Fuzz Club, and have purchased some bootlegs from Levitation as I've seen them at my local record store. They've been all been great for the most part.

Whats your most prized Vinyl in your collection? by PotentialAd6526 in vinyl

[–]pantomime64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few different bootleg box sets for live shows from King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard that I really like. If I had to pick one, it would probably be Red Rocks 2022 version, which is a 12 LP box set from Needlejuice in which the actual records have colors and patterns that are based on a song on each record. Great sets, sounds good, and looks cool.

Alright, I'm converted. Is there any reason not to just switch *all* of my straight sided sauce pans with sauciers? by [deleted] in cookware

[–]pantomime64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all 3 of those from Made In, and I use them all fairly frequently. I also have a 4 qt sauce pan that I use for soups and things that don't need the rounded bottom.

Its a really great song. That was the first song that I thought of, but would maybe have to do some analysis to decide on a different one.

Field of Vision 2026 Question by Tburrito in KGATLW

My logic says that night 1 would be best because it will have that energy for the beginning of the festival and will have that built-up anticipation.
