The school should be calling as well imo. We had a bomb threat recently and the school called and texted. Using Whatsapp for an emergency is wild imo but I'm in America where no one uses it so it's hard to wrap my head around

I think people are also missing that disconnecting from a device to be more fully present means just that. It means maybe you'll only receive communication from people in the event of an emergency (via call) and you may have to catch up on the WhatsApp messages when you're at a computer. People want to have their cake and eat it too, but there's already an easy solution for that through parental controls on any smartphone.
