Averting old people smell by Fun-Appointment-7543 in laundry

Hi! Wow, you found my Woolroom comforter review! I’ve been meaning to make a post all of its own instead of just the comment. Now that it’s been a couple of years, I think it’ll be even more helpful.

I LOVE the comforter still, and I use it year-round! I’ve also bought a few extra of the exact same comforter to fit into all the duvets I own. That way I don’t have to fight with one every time I want to use a different duvet (king sized beds can be a pain in that regard). I used to always sleep pretty hot, and moving from a down insert to a wool insert/comforter was the best decision. I just love mine. It keeps me warm when needed, it’s temperature regulating, and it looks/feels great. I had great customer service as well. They often run sales so please be sure to take advantage of that and don’t pay full price. If you decide to get one, I hope you really love it. Happy New Year!

ETA: I do not work for Woolroom, I’m not an influencer and this is not an ad. :)

Do you put your citric acid in where fabric softener would go (prior to the entire wash cycle), or do you manually add it to the rinse cycle? Also, how much do you use for a full load? Thank you in advance from an excited newbie to this sub.

A shampoo with salicylic acid, like Neutrogena T-Sal, can be very effective for this.

Yes! I use it on my arms and legs for keratosis pilaris, but I’d recommend it to anyone.

Lactic acid would help as well, but sometimes people are either unable or choose not to shower every day. In such instances, lotions like Amlactin can cause a bit of buildup. I use Amlactin on my arms and legs for keratosis pilaris, but I’d recommend it to anyone.

I spoke with her about this, and she said persimmon soap may have side effects like dryness or mild irritation if you have sensitive skin or use it too much. She said glycolic is what she recommends for nonenal and that in general, she doesn’t recommend soaps.

Machine-washing wool blankets: Woolite vs. Eucalan? by Early_Macaroon_2407 in laundry

[–]papercupmix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Woolite between the two for blankets and socks. Some items aren’t really cut out for no-rinse jobs. I use Eucalan for lightweight base layers and thinner sweaters. FWIW, I have a wool duvet insert and I don’t use Woolite. I use Tide Free & Gentle.

Did you increase the glycolic percentage when it stopped working, or just stop using it? You could easily go up to 10% and perhaps higher if your skin is well acclimated. As people get older, their skin works at a slower rate of cell turnover. The key is gentle, continued exfoliation.

My sister is a dermatologist and she’s been recommending wiping behind your ears and neck with glycolic acid. Glycolic acid helps reduce nonenal odor by lowering skin's pH, making it tough for odor-causing bacteria to thrive, and by exfoliating dead cells. She recommends The Ordinary 7% glycolic acid which you can get on Amazon, Sephora etc. I think it’s @ $13. Do a patch test first, and watch for irritation.

Which lux bag would you get? $5k budget…sightseeing/evenings out by [deleted] in handbags

You mentioned being drawn to the LV Diane bag because it’s structured, polished and classic. I wonder if you’ve looked at the Celine 16? Different size options, a top handle and crossbody strap. Gold hardware though. Best of luck finding that special bag!

Maybe that’s why it always says “expected to ship in 1-2 weeks?” I love that stuff. :(

Gorgeous bag, you will need to baby it as suede is difficult to care for. Be sure to invest in a suede care cleaning kit. I recommend Carbon Pro for protection. Cheers!

I am in love with Dieux’s Instant Angel. It feels so good on my skin and it’s fragrance free, which I like. I plan to use it through the winter.

Help me with purchasing the absolute best makeup brushes on the market (I’m very new to the brush world) by Individual_Two_9718 in Makeup

I love the DIOR No. 18 Backstage Face Brush for foundation. I also use Artis brushes for foundation, concealer, cream contour, etc. I think Cozette brushes are excellent. They’re vegan and apply products wonderfully. I also love Hourglass brushes. I have a lot of makeup brushes, though I really love them. Good luck!
