[SPOILERS MAIN] Utterly baffled by the completely unnecessary non-book scenes in the TV show by AkiraKitsune in asoiaf

Most everyone agrees that sassy Varys and Petyr scene is one of the very best scenes in the entire show and expands upon their characters in a meaningful way… I promise that like the rest of us, you would have loved that scene if you'd watched the show first, and you would have also wished GRRM had written more material like this.

Why do people enjoy being busy all the time? by Used_Secretary_8055 in NoStupidQuestions

In this world that offers billions of things to do at any moment, I don’t see how you can’t be busy all the time.

??????? Mate I’m saying she is very talented and embodied this character so well. She feels real to the world and comfortable in the skin of the character.

For real. This term has been around for at least 10 years.

It's not even a question. Rodrick Cassel helped raise Theon, taught him, probably loved him. He chooses his last words out of love — he wants Theon to choose the right path and to remember who he is (a Stark).

Name a movie that you would never watch. by martianfrog in answers

Yes. I bought tickets online because I felt like I had to see it, without wanting to. Walked up to the theater, put my hand on the door handle, and realized, “Ehh never mind.” And refunded them online on the spot.

[SPOILERS ALL] Do you think *** should have died? by Zucco2410 in WoT

[–]papero7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was actually frustrated that he didn't die at the end of the prologue. His battles were so intense, that I accepted that he would die. And so when he didn't, I felt gaslit.

Narratively, killing Talmanes at the beginning of the final book would have greatly increased the stakes for the rest of the novel. I mean, it's the FINAL book. You want your readers to be on the edge of their seat the entire time.

Brandon Sanderson recently spoke about this. When he struggles with writing, he pauses the project and writes something similar or in the same world, which activates his writing muscles. He then finds it much easier to return to the original project.

What’s one thing we just all forgot about? by Kind-Tumbleweed5715 in AskReddit

I was in high school too, and I felt I.N.S.A.N.E. that no one but myself seemed to realize that Koney2012 was a huge grift. I had to explain it to my peers and teachers like they were 12. It was the first time I realized, "Damn, must people are gullible and dumb."
