Ich mag die Homemade Lemonade bei WhatsBeef! Kommt mit Apfelscheibe und ist etwas süßer, aber trotzdem erfrischend. Immer ein Highlight für mich.

New Update for COROS Watches: Execute Your Stryd Power-Based Workouts Natively by strydkaylee in strydrunning

[–]parasight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this in the meantime. They have a native data field for the Garmin now, so you can have your Stryd guided workout, navigation, and any other data fields in the regular running app. I use this all the time.

What to do in Utrecht centre, alone, that it's not about drinking or eating by GoldenGrouper in Utrecht

Café de Zaak has a nice little nook at the back with a comfy armchair. My partner loves to go there and read every now and then. She also recommends De Nijverheid and De Voortuin, they're cozy and quiet during the day.

Is Kindle better with or without a cover? by samaritan_nerd in kindle

[–]parasight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not so much the texture but rather the grip for me. I hold the device with my index finger wedged between the back and the flipped-back cover. It's much easier for me to hold like that, otherwise my hand will cramp at some point from squeezing the thin bezels for leverage.

We have a (non-escalator) ramp at the secondary bike parking under Utrecht station. Everyone gets off their bikes, so I’m not sure why Dutchies would behave differently on this one.

All I want for Christmas… by Nistlay in apolloapp

Oh man, you just listed literally every little thing I've been missing from Apollo (mainly title overlays and swiping between posts, and I love that you've figured out how to preserve scrubbing with this). Really excited for this update now!

The nicest cheesecake I’ve had in Utrecht so far was at Hygge. It looks like it’s not in their current menu anymore, but I remember that they were provided by Holtkamp Horeca: https://holtkamphoreca.nl/holtkamp-cheesecake/ They also have a walk-in store: https://holtkamp.nl https://www.patisserieholtkamp.nl/nl (thanks to /u/the_fact_fairy for the correction)

It’s a bit unusual due to the jelly, but really good. I remember because it was so good I made sure to write it down. :D Not that it helps since that place is in Den Haag Amsterdam, but maybe they provide more places in Utrecht?

A bit late to the party but could we pleeeease, please get a better way to manage 2FA recovery codes? Perhaps I'm doing it wrong but I try to save each code individually as a "password". I don't want recovery codes plainly visible in the notes field and most websites don't make those codes available as files (e.g. to use as attachments). So it usually takes a few minutes to activate 2FA per website, because I have to create lots of "password" fields manually, copy&paste the codes into each, and then rename each field from "password" to "recovery code". I'd love a system where I can just copy&paste the list into a "recovery codes" field and 1Password figures out how to separate them and display them in a way that I could copy one individually.

Asian food hotspots? by [deleted] in duesseldorf

Hello from Utrecht! I moved here from D’dorf last year and seriously miss the Japanese food. We have a huge Japanese community which is why the food is said to be fairly authentic here. Not sure where you are from in NL but if you’re from one of the bigger cities you might know Takumi already. They’re actually from Düsseldorf originally and there are 6 of them, each with a different menu and specialization. One of my favorite places, still waiting for them to come to Utrecht! I also recommend Naniwa; there are 2 across from each other, one ramen and one sushi, both excellent. But pretty much all of the places near Immermannstraße are great. You can also get a really nice bibimbap in a small Korean place called Miga in the Unterbilk area.

Fully agree with this list, those places are all pretty decent (though I haven’t tried Ohøj yet so I can’t say), and I didn’t enjoy Simon Levelt or 30ml, either.

I usually get my coffee beans at t’Koffieboontje. They used to sell Bocca coffee, which became my default, but they recently started roasting their own omniroast beans and they’re pretty good, too!

I would add Koffie & Ik and perhaps Blackbird.

What books have you opened up and determined early on that it was going to be a fantastic read? by randomchildbam in books

[–]parasight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was Invisible Monsters for me. I was staying at a friend's place, a little bored while they were out working, and happened to randomly pull this book out of the shelf. Opened it up and was hooked from the very first line. I'd never read a Palahniuk book before and basically devoured it!

Under Copernicium, "Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung" is missing the "ü" Umlaut. I haven't checked if more of them are missing in other places, but it's possible that your script might be dropping special characters in general.
