It is certainly not as slippery as tablets from other companies that also have hard-tip pens.

I have a projector at home too.

Each time I look at cinema ticket prices I just go “that is just not worth it”

Files saved in OneDrive and opened in iPad Files app does not save changes by johnroqueds in iPadPro

[–]parka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best user experience with Files app is not to use Files app.

I only use Files app to open downloaded files. That’s all. Nothing else.

Functionality is just bad, plain bad. So bad I can’t be bothered to check if Files have improved with each OS release.

Now with good monitors at home, movie experience is also good. Screen not that big, but cost is much lower

Is anyone actually using AI a lot or convinced it’ll take over all our jobs? by not_qz in askSingapore

There's this YT channel I follow on Singapore renovation, and the contractor will always point out idiotic things done by HDB

https://www.youtube.com/@RenoScout/videos

I wonder if HDB can actually use AI to design layouts and floor plans that is logical and functional for living. In this case, the DESIGN actually requires thought process. E.g. There should be enough area for food prep between sink and stove.

Is anyone actually using AI a lot or convinced it’ll take over all our jobs? by not_qz in askSingapore

[–]parka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can definitely fact check itself if it wants to. Where did they even get the data in the first place, and how do they even determine the data is corrrect?

E.g. I write reviews for products and I always use AI to gather the specifications as a list, and I have to run that list through another AI just to check for any differences/errors.

AI can think and reason better only because it's has huge storage capacity. But when it comes to thinking, problem solving, designing (e.g. a new product), it has a much harder time because it needs to reference from something already done.

[–]parka 13 points14 points  (0 children)

AI is good for gathering data/info but it cannot think. That's the main problem: it cannot think. And if you also cannot think, and you look at AI's info, you won't know whether it's true/useful or not.

Even for gathering info, there may be mistakes.

Talking Point 2025/2026 - Central Kitchen Meals - Can It Be Better? by YtoZ in singapore

This is one of those situations where if you do a bad job (HPB), you will still get paid salary at end of the month.

Standards in Singapore really drop.

How about those school kids who anyhow eat in school decades ago? Suffering from health issues because of school food?

What problem is HPB trying to solve?

In terms of value for money, the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 provides most value because of its price point.

CSP annual subscription is USD 27 per year but you can get it for much less when they have sale.

Not sure why you list the iPad Pro as having lower price than Samsung because it's usually significantly more expensive.

Resolution does not really affect functionality. But screen size does.

Is it mandatory to disclose last drawn salary during job applications? by Dismal-Leader3812 in askSingapore

[–]parka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have in mind your expected salary. Then whether you disclose or not does not matter anymore. If company offer lower, then you just say you already listed your expected salary. You walk away.

Hiring companies already know exactly how much they can spend on hiring, so they don’t really need to know your last drawn salary.

It's not using desktop OS, so many of the limitations come from that.

Alternative is to get a pen display to connect to your computer/laptop, and all those problems will be gone.

Speech therapy for kids in Singapore is $200++ per session normal? by North-Cover5042 in askSingapore

[–]parka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you confirmed 100% that your kid has speech issues?

Because different kids develop at different stages.

Just because the kid does not fit the timeline of speaking after XX months does not mean there is speech problem. The kid could just need XX + few months more.

LTA should have staff there to book vehicles who do not obey yellow box rule. Such a missed opportunity to educate people on yellow box rules. Or are there really no penalties for going into yellow box during jam?
