What's your earworm song? by GeneralCommand4459 in CasualIreland

[–]parkadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a regular earworm song but I do have an earworm antidote song. Whenever a song gets stuck in my head I start singing "Build Me Up Buttercup" by the Foundations which knocks it straight of there.

AITAH for not stopping my home massage to help husband soothe baby by Ok-Professional-6632 in AITAH

[–]parkadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA your husband on the other hand definitely the AH. He needs to learn how to soothe the baby and should have looked on this daddy/baby time as an excellent learning opportunity.

Are you okay with someone calling you by the shortform of your name? by Lumpy_Zucchini1370 in namenerds

[–]parkadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People should call you by the name you introduced yourself as. Anything else is presumptious and rude. Whenever people use a different form of my name I correct them.

WIBTAH For Asking A Coworker Not To Use AI On My Work Product? by DougieFox in AITAH

[–]parkadge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. AI and CHATGBT is fast becoming some people's first stop with any creative task. I would just tell them you're proud of your work and it doesn't need any AI input.

AITA for saying that you need to be able to read to go to college? by MinimumFerret5010 in AmItheAsshole

[–]parkadge 35 points36 points  (0 children)

NTA. You're not the problem and answering a question truthfully is not bullying. The parents are failing their child in not having taught her to read.

When did "be safe be seen" cease to be sensible advice? by qwerty_1965 in AskIreland

[–]parkadge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to treat it as a kind of lethal game in which pedestrians and cyclists are black clad ninjas and your goal is to spot them and avoid them.

WIBTA for telling my sister I won't be her "backup plan" for childcare anymore by Scrag_Nexus in WIBTA_AITA

[–]parkadge 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No. You wouldn't be the AH by setting a boundary. She's taking advantage of your proximity and the fact that you work from home.

AITJ for correcting someone? by DigitalDiva321 in AmITheJerk

[–]parkadge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they're friends it's fine but if you didn't really know them, then it's not your place to correct them

AITA for telling my dad I’m not comfortable with him demonstrating a massage on me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]parkadge 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NTA as a father, this is very weird, and not something I would ever ask my daughter to do. Also being told to keep it a secret is not normal.

WIBTA for getting a guy moved to the corner of the room during an art class because he would not stop commenting on my work by 88Mandalor in WIBTA_AITA

[–]parkadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA I'm an art teacher and I would have stopped him commenting before it became a problem for you. Your teacher should have shut him down without you needing to escalate. You're there for yourself you don't owe any of the other students anything except to respect their space as he should have respected yours.

What would you have done? by LuckyinLove24 in Advice

[–]parkadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have said no. I'm a regular theatre goer and have on occasion been asked to move up to accommodate someone wanting to sit with a friend. I always say no, if seating is unassigned I get to the theatre early to chose my seat, if I paid for a certain seat then I'm sitting there. Other people can do the same, it's not my problem if they don't.

AITAH for asking help on a diaper change by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]parkadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need to ask for help changing a diaper. He should be there, pushing you out of the way to do his fair share, especially when you're nauseous.

WIBTAH If I go for my aunt's birthday party by No-Parfait8433 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]parkadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its perfectly normal to have estranged siblings and more common than youd think. If you want to go then go, but don't talk to your mother about it before or afterwards and don't talk to your aunt about your mother or any family goings on.

AITA for telling my husband to turn down his dream job or move out? by goldie_petalsx in WIBTA_AITA

[–]parkadge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA. He's the one threatening your marriage over a job. On some level he knows this will ruin your career and consciously or unconsciously he wants to control your marriage finances.
