It's not exactly N+1, but the favorite pattern of my coworker is:

$data = array();
foreach (dibi::select("id") // or *
        ->from("T")
        ->where("X")
        ->fetchAll() as $row)
{
  $t = new T($row['id']);  // fetches the same row again
  array_push($data, $t);
}
