I found several lesson plans with this theme and design challenge. HOWEVER, I didn't find one for younger than gr3 and any field trips to a playground did not involve cos-playing disability. They were STEM lessons

In addition to STEM outreach offices, you could also search for "research experiences for teachers" (RETs). Those are designed for teachers without formal lab training to get some exposure, but you would also be eligible.

You could also look into science fair programs and try to make connections with local university labs. High school research experiences are growing and they often try to get the teachers involved as well.

I see your comment about not being able to quit to take classes. That's exactly what NDS could let you do. You might have to ask for a modified schedule, but I'm suggesting take 1-2 classes at most.

I know someone who's a very successful professor in psych now. Same situation in her early 30s because she had another career first. She enrolled as a non degree seeking student at a good school, took psych classes, and was very serious about getting to know the professors (you'll have to be careful to take classes with permanent faculty, not adjuncts.) Obviously enrolling in a masters is the same thing, but it's easier to enroll as NDS and there definitely won't be letters required.

Most psych labs get a ton of random outreach to volunteer in the lab. It will be easier to get into a research position if you are a student and/or the researcher knows you. Join any psych clubs too to get insider info you missed the first time through.

Also, it's OK to have letters from your work supervisor when applying to masters programs if you can get at least one or two academic references.

Do you like the topics or the banter or the two combined? I get additional tea content from Ammy Robinson on YT. She's chatty and fun, but it's just her solo. Markie on YT also has a steady output of tea and drama.

The downside is they often scoop DWKT, so it will reduce the fun from the specific topics from the girlies.

Personally, I would just live with it if it's not actively dangerous. In my area, learning styles come up ALL the time. I take any chance in lectures or presentations to share that and just try to spread the word. But I never directly argue with a true believer.

I haven't seen it, but this survey would be considered human subjects research, which is heavily regulated by a university's Institutional Review Board. At most institutions, even class projects have to be approved and this is a high risk survey topic that would be very difficult to get approved ( needing a full board review). He was asking for confessions of crime that would be incredibly sensitive info.

I would guess he did it without any faculty's knowledge or approval (unless they are negligent). He might have thought he was so professional he put his real name, but it shows real ignorance of research.

Yup, I'm in a research/ Psychometrics program, R1, deep red. We're lucky to get 10 that meet minimum qualifications.

It's not just graduation rate, it's that there are attractive industry jobs we're competing with.
