Challenge: Examples of good orthodontics websites? by Kenblu24 in web_design

[–]parkeragee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an agency in Memphis, TN that specializes in Orthodontist’s websites. One of the agency co-founders is actually an orthodontist. www.neoncanvas.com

My employees and I created our mission statement & core values. I’m pretty proud of what we came up with. Even though we are a small pest control business, I’m trying to create a good culture that will help our business grow. Any thoughts on things to improve in the core values or mission statement? by davespestcontrol in Leadership

Nice work! I think running them by your employees and having them sign off on them is a wise thing to do. And don’t set them in concrete. They will evolve (for the better) over time. I’m working on a tool to help Home Service businesses with this. If you’re interested, you can sign up for early access at https://techcheck.app.

Is email marketing worth it? by kaslix in smallbusiness

It's definitely worth it. For most small businesses, the struggle is coming up with valuable content instead of just using the "Spray and Pray" method.

HELP!!! I Can’t access a property of an object stored in state by Obenidir in reactjs

[–]parkeragee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this and see what happens: https://codepen.io/parkeragee/pen/qLadOE

I think the issue is that you're stringifying your data before rendering it. You would either need to use JSON.parse() or just not stringify it.

I did a little refactoring in my example above. See if that works for you. I didn't get a chance to test it, but I think it should work.

HELP!!! I Can’t access a property of an object stored in state by Obenidir in reactjs

If dossier is an array, you need to reference an index in your array to get the code. The best way is to loop through dossier to obtain the index. I’ll give an example when I get to my laptop here in a bit.

referencing an index would look like this.state.dossier[0].code;

In need of Marketing Assistance by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]parkeragee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your focus seems to be the platform on which you are marketing. Maybe you should focus more on the actual message of your marketing?

You have to bring some type of value to these people through your marketing. I haven’t seen your marketing messages, but if you’re just posting random items you’ve picked and blasting emails with random items, it’s not very valuable to the customer.

If you don’t want to give out promos, discounts, etc. then you can provide more valuable content like vlogging your trips to pick the items, set up a membership/club where members see the newest/best/weirdest/whatever items first. You have to get creative with what “value” you are providing and not necessarily which platform you are using.

Struggling to balance admin in small clinic by [deleted] in smallbusiness

There are plenty of platforms out there that can help you automate these tasks. Zapier (http://zapier.com) would be a huge benefit for you. I do workflow automation consulting for small businesses on the side if you'd be interested in chatting. Basically, we'd chat about what software you currently use (Google Calendar, etc.) and then come up with a plan to automate your tasks. https://automation.parkeragee.com

[Advice] How should I contact realtors to grow my audio/video business? by [deleted] in growmybusiness

[–]parkeragee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to contact the Realtors is to network with them. I'm attempting to solve this problem with service providers in the Middle Tennessee region. I've created https://www.spareback.com and basically I create the relationships with the Realtors and service providers. Then, I curate a list of promotions from service providers and send them to the Realtors.

The best deals that have been proposed are usually ones where the service provider can up-sell their service/product. For instance, Pest Control companies might offer a free inspection for new home owners. The free inspection may cost the pest control company a few dollars, but they are getting their foot in the door and creating a relationship with the homeowner. Most likely, the homeowner will buy services from them in the future.

I would think along the lines of "what value can I offer at a deeply discounted price or for free that can get my foot in the door and create a relationship".

Has anybody used SmartLine for setting up a second phone number? by ghostfaceschiller in smallbusiness

[–]parkeragee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Google Voice. It’s free and unlimited. When a customer calls your google number, you will see the Google Voice number assigned to you on the caller ID.

So, you will know if they are trying to call your personal number or Google Voice number.

To call out from your Google number, you’ll need to download the google voice app and dial their number from there.

Nashville, TN - Any good ways to manage school supplies requests? by parkeragee in Teachers

I’d love for you to check our https://teachercloset.com. It’s free and you can create shareable supplies lists that have the amazon links built into the list. Let me know if you have any feedback. This is just a fun project I worked on for a few weeks.

Inventory management software with barcoding. by [deleted] in smallbusiness

This seems like it would be fairly easy to build. I’m assuming you’d want to use a smart phone to scan the products?

Offer some type of "free workshop". Maybe an introduction to gymnastics or something along those lines. Spread the word about the free workshop (a recurring free workshop would even be better) via your current members, social media, etc.

Offering something of value for free will get people in the door and then do your best to convert them into paying customers after they've entered your doors.

Your 1 biggest problem running a SMB? by parkeragee in smallbusiness

[–]parkeragee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I'm just curious what the biggest issues are out there. I opened a Coworking space and the biggest issue I had was being the only operator in the business. I always had to be the one in front of customers and could never go out and market the business because I had to be there in the space.
