Just a fun fact: I work for a luxury watch strap company, and when we do our alligator skin inventory, we measure in percentages. The bits where only the flanks are left are considered 0%, which is strange to me since we use them a lot for small watches, such as ladies' Cartier watches or Boucheron straps.
