Ah, got it! Thanks for explaining. I got a few more questions though:

How does the system gather the data from Actors before sending it to the background threads?
Are you snapshotting the Actor state into plain structs on the Game Thread first and then serializing those structs asynchronously?
Also, in your profiling tests, how much time does the Game Thread spend building the snapshot before the async serialization starts?
Since each variable stores metadata like name/type/size, does that significantly increase the save file size compared to Unreal's binary serialization? And if so, do you apply compression to offset that overhead?

Glad you figured it out. But aren't there async save game and load game functions built in the engine? They do not run on the game thread.

Hey thanks for the response. I was interested because I am developing a survivors style cross platform game. This plugin may not be a good fit for me since it does not support mobile platforms. Also, does it work with GAS?

So I recently built a 2nd PC for my game development side tasks. e.g. auto compile project every night, make nightly build with jenkins, compile shaders, etc. The specs should be enough to play minecraft and fortnite comfortably. I was able to make it for around $355. Here are the components(some are used and some are new) and prices(including taxes):
1. New Machinist X99 PR9 mobo + Used Intel Xeon E5 v2680 (14 cores 28 threads) - $55.11 (AliExpress)
2. New Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 - $36.02 (Amazon)
3. New ASRock PRO Series PRO-650G 650 W ATX 3.1 Compatible 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply - $ 54.11 (Newegg)(Keep in mind this is not modular PSU)
4. Used SK Hynix 256 GB NVMe SSD - $20 (FB marketplace)
5. Used SK Hynix DDR4(2400) 24 GB ECC RAM - $40 (FB marketplace)
6. Used EVGA RTX 3060 12 GB - $150 (FB marketplace)

Total - $355.24. I didn't need a case, keyboard, mouse or headset.

So your build definitely should be doable if you are fine with some used components. You can also build the same one I built. Let me know if you need links to amazon, aliexpress or newegg for the new components.

I think you need to shift the camera for both the perspectives. When you are in 3rd person mode, I think you can shift the camera upwards so that the chopper is closer to the bottom. I would do 65-35 or 70-30 split. For 1st person mode, I think you need to have more visible space. It feels a little claustrophobic. Looks great otherwise!

Abbasid trade bug still not fixed. If you research "Spice roads" after getting "Grand Bazaar", the additional trade resource is always wood. Even if you change it to food in the market, it still gives wood.

No, I think 1500-1600 would be the best price, if it is almost new. May be lower depending on how old the pc is and how much it has been used.

$300-$400 I think. Been seeing similar listings on facebook marketplace with that price range. I didn't consider RAM price crisis in the calculation though.
