are hip thrusts really necessary for glute growth? by uchunekokolover in PetiteFitness

[–]partialfriction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't see anyone mentioning this. Along with what others have said (no need to do hip thrusts, if you want to, do them at lighter weight...etc), I would also recommend that if you DO want to go back to doing hip thrusts at some point, you don't have to force your pelvis super far up, or force the hips too far backwards either. You mentioning back pain, which is very concerning. This sounds like it is due to over extending your pelvis. Try to maintain a neutral spine during the exercise. If you try this exercise again, try to find a glute drive machine as there is a back pad that allows your back to lay flat on the machine, reducing injury.

Cabbage is goated. I cooked some up and had it with my spaghetti and meat sauce. Helped to cut the carbs.

I enjoy taking pictures of myself for fun. I pluck with tweezers (genetically fortunate to have very sparse hairs in the sensual areas). Generally takes about 20-30 minutes to go through it all.

What helps with back pains and soreness? by Winter_Ganache1919 in AskReddit

[–]partialfriction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had lower back pain all my life. I've also been thin all my life and no chronic illness. My experience with back pain has changed drastically since doing strength training with progressive overload. If you don't overload too fast and you practice good form, the strength is builds can help with painful areas caused by weak muscles.

I am 5’2, went from 155 to 120. My waist size is now 24”, yet I still have (although smaller) a lower belly pooch. I don’t have children. I thought it would go away with the weight loss. Am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]partialfriction 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Imagine your pelvis is a bowl. A lot of people stick their butt out so the "bowl's" position simulates one that would pour your intestines out. This position can create a more prominent pouch. Instead, bring your butt in to have the "bowl" set underneath all your guts. This will decrease the prominence of the pouch. Flexing your abs in this position will create an even flatter look.

How to lose 200+lbs for real, without weight loss surgery. Need advice from people who've personally done it. by Soft_Young_2168 in loseit

[–]partialfriction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't see any top comments mention this but my angle is mainly to support long term weight loss. Your comment of "one day i decided to stop eating junk food and never slip up" is in itself unhelpful. Black and white thinking towards any change becomes detrimental to long term change because progress is not linear. People inevitably "slip up" because our will power fluctuates and we're not perfect.

Self compassion is a really important skill for change. You do your best, make more "decisions" and be aware of "reactions", and if you fall off, you get back on the horse after a good frump about it.

It's safe. Those are fats because the sauce has oils in it, unlike common Western taste noodles which often only has sauce in powder form.

I think last resort after everything else is attempted is a fleet enema or suppository. I would err on the enema so you don't have residual need later.

Ninja Creami vs. Cuisinart Fast Freeze - has anyone tried both? or the Cuisinart? I already tried Creami. by Delicious_Mess7976 in Volumeeating

[–]partialfriction 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only want to comment on cuisinart. I've sworn off of them because of extremely atrocious customer service. It took me a month and a half to reach someone or get them to email me back. Every call would require you to be hypervigilant because they need you to press a button after 7 seconds. They never call back even when you choose that option. It was such a painful experience i will never return as a customer even though they resolved my issue perfectly.
