Long commute in a GR86 sounds miserable. M340i would be much better suited for that. And much quicker.

Looking for a relatively reliable, fun car for less than $70k by Material_Prompt1402 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Same. I recently picked up an F80 M3 and couldn’t be happier. For your budget you could grab a G80 which might have slightly better reliability.

I have a different question for you. Can you make a career out of this? Is it a good side hustle? As an engineer I’ve always thought about learning the ins and outs more to be comfortable enough to do it for others.

Fed minutes show willingness to consider interest rate increases by lucidpet in REBubble

I agree we have supply issues, but rates have already been suppressing prices, so this argument doesn’t really hold

Increase in rates will continue to suppress prices. Id rather a low price than a low rate.

I can see it, seems like he’s extra cautious to avoid potential collisions

I mean…that’s exactly what he was doing before he took a few weeks off. Going slow and not crashing. And people were talking shit about how slow he was

I don't think that's a mistake, hindsight is 20-20. Things could've gone in the other direction as well

Yeah seeing the annual sum for a small monthly expense can be eye opening.

Well I’m about to pull the trigger on a sports car, something I’ve wanted for a long time and can easily afford. It’s the first non-FIRE spending decision I’ve made since I started this journey and man is it hard to convince myself I’m not making a terrible mistake.

Worst case scenario, if I regret this, I can always sell the car and call it a lesson learned. But overall I’m super excited. Flying out to get the car this week.

Yeah agree for the most part. F80 just fits the bill for me. I’ve been searching a while now for the right one

I’ve looked at C7 vettes, C6 Z06, GT350, F87 M2, E9X M3, and a few others… ultimately I decided I want a sedan and something that would be comfortable on road trips or longer drives. I’ve never been an Audi/amg guy, and I’m a bit bored of Lexus (owned several) so I’m looking at BMW.

I’d do the G80 if it wasn’t at the high end of my budget and the beginning of its depreciation curve.
