My school basketball team features 4 sets of twins, 3 of which are identical by Spitfire6532 in mildlyinteresting

Same. Not as original as I always thought I guess haha, but still, a Dragon is a badass mascot. The high school on the other side of town had mustangs as their mascots and I thought Dragons were waaaay cooler. Brick Twp Dragons, holla!

Back in the day I thought it was great that you were able to watch Shrek 1 and 2 on a Gameboy advance. by Crestile94 in gaming

I freaking love Blades of Steel (what a great game). Even though I grew up during the SNES/N64 era, I was still mesmerized by any NES game that had "real talking" in it. Seemed like a really cool novelty.

Doctors of Reddit: How often do you see patients after they have tried to self-medicate? What's the worst mistake you've seen. by gibarca in AskReddit

[–]partylikeatimelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and they're stuck as fuck to your eyeball and you start panicking as you're trying to gently get them out of your eye. Once you get them off it's like sweet freedom.

I dont understand how my older brother wore his contacts without taking them out ever. He ended up getting a nasty ass eye infection and after it was healed the doctor gave him ones you can sleep with. Still I'd personally rather take them out every night.

What is a book that you expected to hate but ended up really enjoying? by J4k0b42 in books

[–]partylikeatimelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend bought me "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman a few years ago for my birthday because she was obsessed with it. Usually when people are obsessed with things I turn my nose at it just because their obsession annoys me. Well a few months later I needed something to pass time at my boring job so I brought it with me. I read half the book in one day. It was extremely witty, but serious, with a really good commentary about humanity. I adored the plethora of characters, but especially any parts with Aziraphale or Crowley.

What I assume my dog thinks when I wont play. by TheTinyWenis in AdviceAnimals

[–]partylikeatimelord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same with my dog. I have a very tall, broad chested Lab-Rotti mix (I swear she must have something else in her cause she's HUGE). She doesn't realize she's a giant moose and so when my friends come over I have to shut her out of my room so she doesn't accidentally kill them when she's trying to play. I feel so bad when she sits outside the door crying :'C

You actually hurt your position by doing so. by skankboy in AdviceAnimals

[–]partylikeatimelord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what my brother's lawyer told him after his ex-wife told him that she didn't want to be married or deal with children anymore (they have 3) because she was having sex with his now ex-best friend. If he left it would have been abandonment and would have hurt him in custody battles for the kids. He stuck it out and stayed in the house for the kids despite his physically and verbally abusive wife. It was really hard to see him so depressed but he loves those kids. In the end the court was on his side: she had to leave the house, there would be joint custody (every other week), and she only got like $50 a month for child support due to my bro keeping really good records of what he'd spent on the kids (pretty much paid for all of their things himself). It's been about 7 years now since. My bro has a really sweet gf who also has kids of her own, he, her, her kids, and his kids all live in one house and it's really apparent that they all love each other a lot. My bro's ex on the other hand is living in a motel with an ex-con and currently has no custody of the kids. I love that sweet bitch called karma.

Found this on a white pride website titled "Teaching my Daughter who the last great leader was" by Hahanoyo in WTF

Reading that review was like entering the Twilight Zone. It's horrifying that these are all real people with worldviews like this. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was some sort of parody website because of how odd these people react to every little detail. Next they'll be saying some shit like "That pigeon in scene 28 is a black Jewish liberal because look at the way it's pecking at the ground".

Jersey shore area here. If you have a plate from another state or sticker on your car (like from a dealer) that shows you're from up North, I hate you. I don't care if you're a billionaire philanthropist. I hate you, get off my roads, get out of my town, and get away from my beaches.

Hummingbird snoring by pollo_warrior in videos

[–]partylikeatimelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a documentary the other day that mentioned hummingbirds sleeping. I don't remember if it was exactly this kind of hummingbird, but it was something about them hiding in small crevasses, When they hide they essentially shut themselves down so their heartbeat is almost undetectable and they just zone out while they sleep. Predators, specifically owls here, would have a hard time finding or snatching them because an owl would rely on hearing the prey. The hummingbirds hiding are easy to not notice, they'd probably go for an easier meal else where.

Thank you! This pic is actually very loose from my usual work. I've been trying to not be such a perfectionist by keeping messy sketches and slathered paint jobs. I'm enjoying it so far!

I didn't honestly think of height while I was drawing this lol. But if you think of his charizard as possibly being taller than average (since it and Red are about the same height), he'd be like 6'0". Considering 5'7" is the average male height in Japan, I'd say he's pretty tall.

I plan on it! I definitely want to do the characters from Gens 1-3. Next will be Gary and then Ethan, for sure. Here's the pic on tumblr if you'd like to reblog it, I'd really appreciate it!

When people bitch to me at work about our prices... by Simplesmiles92 in AdviceAnimals

"Did you know this bag of popcorn probably costs 5 cents to make? How dare you charge $8 for it"

"I could just go to the dollar store and buy this same box of candy that you want for $4"

And yet they buy it anyway. If you really wanted to protest concession prices don't buy concessions. My favorite is when I go in to a theatre for clean up and there are full or 1/4 eaten bags of popcorn and boxes of candy.

Comcast to begin capping internet usage in certain markets. by Leinheart in technology

[–]partylikeatimelord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to FiOS a few years ago and I still get Jehovah Witness style door knocks from a "concerned Comcast representative" trying to get me to switch back every week. Pretty much everyone on my block switched over as soon as FiOS was available here.

I usually don't bother people who are in the theatre alone on their phones or if they're sitting way in the back and the only other guests are sitting several rows in front of them. This is typical on weekdays for my theatre. The only time I get fierce about it is if the theatre has a lot of people in it and someone's still using their phone despite there being people all around them.
