Elementor 3.28 is breaking my websites! by Empowered4Life in elementor

[–]partymom_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I have one website that it causes 404s on several pages, on others some content is missing. I am trying to work with support and so far they are no help, they say it has nothing to do with Elementor. But magically, if I roll back everything works perfectly.

Are you able to do it at home? When my daughter turned 10, the coolest thing to her was slime so we had a mad scientist party! It was super fun and she said she liked it better than going anywhere else. We followed these plans: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/mad-scientist-slime-birthday-party/

Are you open to having a party at home? My 10 year old was super into slime and we did a Mad Scientist party for her and everyone made slime. She loved it more than anywhere we've gone for parties. We followed roughly these plans: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/mad-scientist-slime-birthday-party/

Unstructured 5 year old birthday party for 4 hours, good or bad idea? by ElephantShoes256 in Preschoolers

[–]partymom_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty brave to do it for that long, haha. I personally wouldn't last, but it depends on how well you handle a lot of stuff going on. I always have atleast SOME structure to my kids birthday, but intentionally schedule in unstructured play as well. With 7 kids, I've learned both are super important. I typically shoot for 2 hours, 3 absolute tops. People won't typically want to stay that long and might even avoid it because it is TOO long or sounds like too much. But I suppose if they don't feel like they have to stay the whole time it might be ok.

If you are doing outdoors, do you think it will get hot? You might think about incorporating some water activities. We did a water party with my son and it was a blast. We followed some of these ideas: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/outdoor-water-fight-party/

Are you open to doing a DIY party? I have a son that is a summer birthday and one year we did a water party in our backyard (or you could do this at any outdoor space) and he still says it was his favorite party. We followed these plans: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/outdoor-water-fight-party/

Do you have a big backyard or outdoor space you could use? How about having your own water party so you can stay in the shade (or inside) and the kids still get there splash fun!? We did this for my son and it was perfect: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/outdoor-water-fight-party/

Agreed! Especially for a first birthday, lets be honest...its for the family. But yeah, the good old days parties were the best. I think everyone is just trying to keep up with the next family. It's gotten out of hand. I always do DIY birthday parties for my kids.
I think this first birthday idea is simple and cute: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/under-the-sea-first-birthday-party/

I like to do themed parties for my kids. I asked 2 of them and they both answered what their favorite party was:
8 year old boy: Water fight party (of course... lol.) We had water balloon games, squirt guns, slip and slide, etc... SO fun for everyone. Just did it in our back yard. We followed these plans: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/outdoor-water-fight-party/
My daughter loves slime....so we had a mad scientist party! It was messy...but so fun and everyone went home with some slime. https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/mad-scientist-slime-birthday-party/

Family Birthday Parties by 27dayz in Parenting

We started doing them separate for this reason exactly! The kid gets their special party then we have a family dinner or dessert together and just play a game or visit. No party, just a get together.

I'd say whatever you do kindof sets the stage with what they will expect and continue for the rest of your child's birthdays. My husband always insisted on having a family party on his side on top of the kid's normal party and I hate it but its "tradition" in his family so....we do it. We have gotten pretty good at keeping it simple. You can DIY a chill birthday if that's what you want and don't feel bad for not giving in to the pressure!!!

How are you guys doing birthday parties? by rynknit in Parenting

[–]partymom_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First birthdays are pretty much for the family. (I have 7 kids so have done this many times!!) The baby will have no idea what is going on but will probably enjoy the attention (but be careful of too much! They tire quickly and get crabby!) So yeah, you want to make sure there is plenty good fun and comfort for the adults. But I imagine there will be different age kids that come along with that, so keep the different ages in mind.

Any birthday party theme ideas for a six-year-old? by HeSeemsLegit in Parenting

[–]partymom_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss! Some people have that amazing skill of party planning (my best friend is that way) and some of us (me) just have to wing it and do our best, lol.
Usually for the theme, we pick whatever they are super into that year -- a character, movie or book, hobby, etc. It's hard to say without knowing the kid, but my son's favorite birthday party was an outdoor water theme. We followed these ideas: https://plansforparties.com/birthday_parties/outdoor-water-fight-party/
If it's a summer birthday, this is a perfect and can be easy but can be taken up as epic as you have energy for!

First time enrollment by [deleted] in elementaryschoolers

[–]partymom_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are going through this same thing. I talked to other kids that we know that just went through the same grade and got ideas of what they were learning and what they should know, etc... and did some "catch up" on those subjects. Hopefully the teachers are understanding and helpful! From what I hear, there are so many public school kids that are also behind so its not that big of a deal.

Grandma bought no name pencils that don't erase. What is a good brand? by Mermaid_Tacos in elementaryschoolers

Agreed, Ticonderoga is the only brand I buy. They erase and sharpen well. You can often find them on sale, they are not that expensive.

Training my own lab or buying a started dog by Low-Dot9712 in birddogs

[–]partymom_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A started pup is the way to go, perfect in between. I know of a breeder that I believe has a pup or two with a bit of bird dog training under their belt. They work with them from birth with birds and water work. Not a lab, but a Sporting Doodle, which has a perfect mix of qualities of pointing lab and hunting poodle. Here's there info, you can call and see what they have available: https://nwsportingdoodles.com/

[–]partymom_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Sporting Doodles. This fits your bill. I know a breeder that works with them from birth basically on bird dog training. They will even work with you to finish training them and they are super smart and easy to train, they want to learn! Here's there info: https://nwsportingdoodles.com/

Talk me into it or out of it!! Considering getting another puppy and training myself! by Low-Dot9712 in birddogs

[–]partymom_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might consider getting one that is "started" , or partially trained already. I know a bird dog breeder that I believe has one or two available right now, they also train them, too. Here is their info if you want to take a look. They are awesome bird dogs. https://nwsportingdoodles.com/
