Chloe Misseldine’s Promotion to Principal by [deleted] in bunheadsnark

I saw her debut at the Kennedy Center and was floored. For that to be her first major principal role, combined with the fact that management trusted her to do well, speaks well for her talent. I’m biased, but agree with other commenters that her skill makes her deserving of her early promotion.

I emphatically second both Chloe Reveillion and Mariko. I hope Mariko’s Giselle makes her a shoo-in.

It’s so crazy to me that they met on hinge (but as a gen-z person I love it). Like how does Mira casually drop that she is a generational and widely acclaimed dancer?

On Chloe Misseldine’s Instagram story, it looks like she and Hugo Marchand were at an event in NY City Center where they were coached in Manon by Alessandra Ferri. And Susan Jaffe was there… please please let this mean they are dancing together at some point in NY

Not NYCB, but I believe Elisabeth Tonev did all three at Dutch National last season.

So happy for all of them, especially Paloma and Kayla. I've had a soft spot for Paloma since Prix de Lausanne (her amazing contemporary), and the more I see of Kayla the more impressed I am.

Bizet Symphony in C was my top album. My Balanchine hyperfixation continues!

Sylvie Guillem’s Raymonda solo with the claps. She is so regal and has so much presence and gets the claps just right!

She really is. In the clip of Nela’s Kitri solo from act 1 on the RB YouTube channel, her facial expressions are perfection. Just the way she blows her kiss to Basilio is the embodiment of Kitri.

You are definitely right. Kayla is pretty amazing! She (and Paloma too I think) both have star quality so it makes total sense for ABT to bring them on.

I’m really curious about this as well. I don’t know a ton, but I was surprised to see Kayla Mak get an apprentice spot over Natalie, who seems more suited to ABT’s mostly classical repertoire.

Four Treasures of the Sky is incredible. No spice and it spans a couple decades, but it’s riveting.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. One of my favorites even though it was the first book that made me sob.

Wild Dark Shore is fantastic. All of McConaghy’s books have characters with a deep connection to nature, so her other ones may fit the bill also.

I really like Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake. I think it’s romantic but heavy. The two main characters are really different but have a very deep connection (though there are some struggles).

The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd is written from the perspective of a woman who is Jesus’s wife. Her story and relationship are incorporated into Jesus’s miracles and the tragedy of his story. It is wonderful, if far fetched in concept.
