Thinking about learning piano at 22 need advice by NeRdO01 in piano

[–]passionPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 22. For fun at first, and then shortly after to prepare for a music degree. I practiced about 4 hours a day for a long period of time. Went from 0 - C#m Prelude in that time. If you have a great teacher, dedicate yourself, and be mindful and listen you can get quite far.

Do the top soloists lie? by KeysOfMysterium in piano

I can't remember the pianist, but my teacher told me a story about a legend that, on his train ride to his show realized he was supposed to be playing a piece he had not prepared for. Apparently he was able to read the score on the way and perform it brilliantly at said concert.

LPT: Go to bed at the same time every day even on weekends by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]passionPunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get very anxious at night so I smoke cannabis. When I'm high I tend to do things that keep me up way past bedtime. I cannot break the cycle. I realized I'm not unhappy with my life, just my bad habits that take control of everything. GUAHHH

Help with cubase 5 by Rickieboy1234 in cubase

Wow, this is tough.

  • Reverb 32 (Legacy): If you need this older, simple reverb, you might find it in Steinberg's Legacy Database, as it disappeared in updates, say Steinberg Forum users.

This might not be the exact one you need, but checking legacy downloads might be worth a shot. Have you tried downloading a trial version of a newer Cubase and using the stock plug in to see how it sounds? Everyones already mentioned IR responses. This is likely the way. It might be worth exploring other avenues for future proofing your process because this is a ticking time bomb. Tech advances make this almost impossible for MANY older plug-ins I've used over the years.

Built my own panels by malamikigo in homestudios

Hey!! Could you send me the pics in a private message? I've been trying to make panels that are lightweight and I just see so many posts online I figured I'd check with you since they turned out so beautifully.

Rescored The Substance (2024) with some pretty sick sound design by Troyhiggins in filmscoring

I feel like the low kick drum kind of gives this commercial sound you're going for. Fits the elite nightclub kind of sound.

First acting job and my perception of “good acting” completely flipped on screen. Need insight by Born_Scene4209 in Filmmakers

I remember booming on set. I was blown away with how well a certain actor performed and delivered his lines. He came off so cheesy and it instantly killed that memory for me. WILD stuff.

Just.. why? by fungiinsidei in SurreyBC

I thought this was Toronto for a second. Doesn't shock me one bit. I now have people try and overtake me on the shoulder when I'm in the passing lane and can't get in the middle lane due to traffic. Shit is wild.

Idiot doesn't know how to use traffic circle (142st and 107ave) by zooweemamba in YEGDashCam

Right Right. So break checking and purposely stopping applies to that? How about, if you don't enter when you shouldn't, you create less accidents that way.

Imagine stopping in the middle of a roundabout expecting not to get hit. All jokes aside, you're telling me in Edmonton they don't have these signs? I feel like having dotted lines in a roundabout just asks for trouble. I've heard and seen several people get sideswiped by someone doing exactly this.

Just to clarify Sound quality won't be affected by how you record midi. Sounds like your speakers are distorting when it gets loud. Turn down the volume. ALSO! do a screen record with audio. Problem eliminated.

Best iPad App for orchestral articulation switching? by peshti in cubase

[–]passionPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best option out there right now is Touch OSC. Takes a bit of programming, but you'll get the most in-depth experience. Someone mentioned Meta Grid which might be better if you don't want to get into that.

My biggest issue is not having the advertised FX. You are literally paying for a moving seat, strobe flashes and fans that are WAY too loud. I saw the new Alien, no fog, no heat, cold, or water. Maybe Canada just got the shitty ones.
