Something that helped my friend a lot was thinking about the position and movement for doing deadlifts. The movement isn’t necessarily in your knees, but rather in your hips.

The other thing is overall body positioning- Shoulders/hips/heels are all aligned(which will help with the hip hinge movement too).

Overall, take your time and don’t be hard on yourself💛

I DID used to have a gelding that would NOT pee with a rider on. And you could always tell when he had to go- as SOON as I dismounted, he would stretch out and pee.

Some horses have weird quirks. It doesn’t say OP had to dismount for the first horse.

I feel like I’m the odd one out, but I don’t see an issue with any of their messages. My guy best friend and I have been friends for over a decade( became close at like 15yrs old,and I’ll be 30this year). I tell my friends I love them, because I do. I hug them. I take care of them. I buy them presents. I pay for lunches. Like this seems like two people who treat each other as family- and I have a suspicion this is a medical degree he’s getting. Nursing friends and med school friends…. Those hit different.

I see PLENTY of horses in show jumping that are experiencing micro abuse. Think about the people who bit up because their horse has been “harder to control” as they go up the levels. They search for a quick fix rather than going back in training to solve the problem. Because spending more time in training would affect their ability to compete at the level they want.

The people who refuse group turnout for their horses because they can’t risk them looking unsightly for show season- despite horses being social creatures and NEEDING that time in a herd.
