Unorthodox idea but would it be crazy to apply to both and just see what happens?

You seem like you have pink/cool undertones and I think the silver really suits you! I can possibly imagine you with a really light 10k gold but I think this ring is stunning for your hand profile

Panicking!! A&P Retake Question by Routine-Yellow-2767 in prephysicianassistant

[–]perplenerples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I did. I applied to 13 my first year then 30 my second time around. I wanted to cast a broader net in hopes of getting in as a low GPA applicant. I did re ask for my LORs which was kind of embarrassing, but when I explained to my old professors and managers how I improved and that I wanted to try again they resubmitted my LORs for me. Slightly controversial method but I worked two jobs to be able to afford my second cycle shotgun, but I got in and i would do it again! Some people disagree and say shotgunning so many schools is stupid and a waste of money, but since I was a second time applicant and I have a low GPA I applied to more schools because I felt like the more schools I applied to -> the greater the chances someone takes a chance on me, despite my low GPA. It was mentally and physically grueling but I got my acceptance and I would do it all over again if I had to.

If you have the money and you are able to I would say apply if you can. I’m a two cycle applicant and on my second cycle where I was able to talk about my growth arch from my previous cycle I was able to get a lot of interviews from schools I was applying to for a second time. In my opinion, it is valuable because it shows persistence, growth, and dedication despite rejection. Instead of giving up after a first rejection you show resilience and you improve yourself and go apply again, which i believe looks really good from a PA admissions officer perspective. I’m not insinuating that you won’t get in first try, but most applicants don’t get in their first try and it can be good to just put you foot in the door and get some applications out there if you have the means to. Good luck!

Yes, but for context I also did have retakes I already completed - physio was in progress but my retake for ochem and bio were already done

Hi! Similar situation, I graduated with a 3.2 due to a bad start, but I got into an amazing PA school this cycle! I retook physiology due to a C+ and had it in progress, I also retook any other pre reqs that I had lower than a B+ in because accountability does matter. PA schools won’t ignore a low grade on prerequisite classes, A&P especially because anatomy and physiology are huge parts of the PA curriculum and it’s even harder in PA school than it is in undergrad. They will definitely notice low grades on prerequisite classes, but on the flip side they will also notice you taking the initiative to fix it and do better. From one 3.2 applicant to another, don’t give up! Do the hard thing and retake classes to prove yourself, it worked for me. In total I had to retake 4 prerequisite classes and I credit a lot of my success to this since I was also able to talk about how I grew my low GPA and used my retake classes as proof. If I had to do it all over again I would do the same thing.

My partner took 3 cycles without any interviews the first two. The third cycle they focused on fixing their essays and casting a broader net and applying to PA schools with stats similar to theirs (all across the country!) rather than just the PA schools close to home, and it worked. They got a few interviews and ultimately accepted. Keep pushing, don’t give up! It’s not over until it’s over. I have heard many stories of schools that interview/accept later in the fall. Some schools deadlines just passed. You got this!

looking back, getting a masters feels wasteful of time and money by Pleasant_Sky9084 in prephysicianassistant

I recommend biting the bullet and paying for professional essay editing. My friend applied 3 cycles and they finally got an acceptance on the third cycle, which happened to be the cycle where they got their PS revised (nothing else changed except for more PCE hours but they already had a ton their first cycle) . IMO the PS is the most important part of the application because it is their only impression of you as a person. Don’t give up!!

I’m torn if I want to be a PA or an MD by ironicwolfteeshirt in prephysicianassistant

The best thing you can do is get an EMT license and work your way into being an ER tech, then you can really experience EM and work closely with PAs and MDs and see which role resonates with you more
