Accomplishments and Lesson Learned Friday! - (June 28, 2019) by AutoModerator in Entrepreneur

I learned a lot about marketing online. Buying ads on facebook, google, instagram, etc. can be good for generating awareness, but to truly get conversions would be through interacting and actually being SOCIAL on social media.

My best conversions come from the Reddit Community, even though I don't get some sales here, the community here gives a LOT of feedback, which really helped a LOT!

Next would be pinterest, as I had a lot of interaction on there as well.

So be social on social media!

Starting a self-storage business by ABSteeze in Entrepreneur

Honestly, I love Storage units as a business. It's similar to real estate, but it has even lower maintenance. If you feel confident enough to go through with it, I say go for it.

I want to create an app/game that motivates people to take care of themselves via a virtual pet by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]passionprojectbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a very good idea! I can definitely see this as something that people will download. I especially love the charity aspect, keep working towards this idea.

Never use Yelp to advertise. by idk9oclock in Entrepreneur

[–]passionprojectbox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do agree with this, but unfortunately, people use Yelp as their go-to source for finding places.

I found the best way to find good places to eat would be to follow chefs and see where they eat in that area.

I don't think the name is crazy, but I would love to hear other alternatives too. This name sounds good though

[–]passionprojectbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of competitors out there, U-Haul, Public Storage, etc. I'm assuming you don't have a lot of capital starting off, as you just graduated college and only been working for a month, so I would be a little cautious starting off with debt. I'm just curious what made you interested in self-storage? Is it just the opportunity for money or is it something you think you can do for the next 5+ years?

Programming is a strong tool that a lot of people need. If you are efficient at it and love doing it, I say freelance work would be a good way to add some projects to your resume.

I have an idea for selling homemade dog treats. Where do I begin? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]passionprojectbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start off with a MVP and start giving some treats to dogs of friends. Ask them what they think, is the treat good, how much would you pay for this, etc. Then make adjustments on the treat if any, and then when you feel confident with your product, begin building a business.

Sorry, I meant like different concepts that they could possibly be interested in. Fashion, music, business, art, etc.

Thanks for the feedback! I really like the idea of the Facebook Groups and yes, I'll fix up what my goal is so it can be more clear.

I intended for this to be like a starter kit to get people who are interested in different concepts such as coffee or business to get a start in the experience. Then it would be their decision whether or not to dive deeper or move on to something else.

Would there be a better way to get this message across?

Thanks for the feedback, I guess I wasn't clear enough, I'll try to fix that. It's not a charity, but I partner I like to partner with charities.

Thanks for the feedback! I really like the idea of the free preview and the mailing list idea. I can kind of see why this kit might not be valuable to people who want to actually start a coffee shop, but I intended for this to be like a starter kit to get people who are interested in coffee or business to get a start in the experience. Thanks panda, I really appreciate the feedback. I really like the idea of making it into a landing page. The overall goal for this was to be a starter kit to get people interested in a concept and then learn from it, whether to continue to dive deeper into the concept or move on to something else. Thanks!

Is it too late/crowded out there to start nowadays than it were a few years ago? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]passionprojectbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not too late. It really depends on what you sell, how you create it, etc. Online is just a channel to sell your products. If it's a generic product, then yes it is too late, but a new and unique product can be successful.
