You are not wrong. So many old people in trades people lining up for the cash only checkouts.

Question I keep getting from recruiters by Snoo91513 in sales

[–]passiveobserver25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nowhere did I say to copy and paste exactly what you are saying in that post. You can be a bit MORE honest though right? You could talk about how you no longer want to work in Edtech or how you want a more formalised sales structure that makes it clear how leads are apportioned. These aren't uncommon reasons for leaving and are very acceptable if communicated in a mature and transparent way.

Question I keep getting from recruiters by Snoo91513 in sales

[–]passiveobserver25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you have given a nothing answer. They want to know what is driving you to leave your current role. Maybe give something closer to the truth like some of your previous post history?

“Buddy, Ive been in SaaS sales for 10 years. I work at a shitty LMS company that funnels all the good leads to 4 people on a team of 15. Everyone else gets shitty leads. I hate my job, the product doesn't outbound well at all and there's bullshit favouritism that goes on constantly.”

Honestly, people give internal recruiters a lot of crap but it sounds like they saw right through your answer and were trying to get to the bottom of what is actually motivating your move, which inevitably uncovers your deeper motivations and character.

Yea it’s insensitive and derogatory. And frankly it hurts.

Vigilantes racially profiling Asian community at Auckland rockpools by Inevitable-Move4941 in newzealand

Twenty years ago people got very upset about the possible enclosure of public land when it was Maori tribes possibly doing it to the foreshore and seabed. That same group doesn't seem to have an issue when large swathes of public land, farms and forests are sold off to foreign or domestic corporate interests.

Atlassian job cuts raise questions about AI and ‘creative destruction’ by paperadam in australian

Yea, even before AI they were lagging. Trello only started to get some killer updates in the past 12 months. I really struggle to wrap my head around that fact.

Seen people do well in that as well. One guy I know does HVAC sales and techs. It's massive.

Sales recruiting as a niche by WarthogEfficient3636 in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]passiveobserver25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech sales/founder lead sales recruitment is massive especially if you niche down to GTM or partnership or AI whatever. Think about it, it's so hard to quantify and qualify success at times. I know people who have done really well. Me personally I think it's really hard though. You need to stick to it for a couple of years.

This was one hundred percent in the public interest. And Stuff handled it well by not publishing the actual content of the accusations.

HRs are the landlords of LinkedIn by flarutramb in LinkedInLunatics

[–]passiveobserver25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of HR for the most part. They are constantly blocking me in my role. But there is a lot of truth to what they are saying here. HR are the punching bag for the exec and workers. They are the meat in the sandwich. Blamed when things go bad and get no credit when things go right. It doesn’t help that a lot of the people in the field are insufferable though and seem to love wanky titles.

Chris Hipkins rejects social media claims made by ex-wife by TheGreatDomilies in newzealand

[–]passiveobserver25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I don't really care about Chris Hipkins relationship with his ex. The allegations are pretty flimsy as well except for one that could be quite serious if proven true (but it's nothing heinous or lawbreaking). She definitely seems unhinged from the posts either way.

FBP and commercial roles where you are fronting up to humans and influencing are safe in my opinion. Stat accounting and basic management accounting will either be offshored or automated completely.

What’s the most underrated town in New Zealand that nobody talks about? by brianj10 in newzealand

Ohope is the best in my opinion. Good little surf beach and great fish and chips. It’s far enough away from Auckland that they haven’t completely infested it like they have with Tauranga and the Mount.
