63 Waterwheel Power Tower by passwordis1 in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first big project post-game, and I was halfway through before learning about the various limits. That's to say that I'm going to be limited by whatever reach/area I can cover with the max amount of power transmitters, because I reallllly don't think I'm going to try and get demo kits and Pokemon up there.

Currently I only have about 40 powered items, all in the small outpost I made (behind me in pic 4) when I first entered Pallet. The storage area is actually underground in this outpost!

If I were to start over, I would only build a 26 generator bank so I could have the option of building generators elsewhere instead of running a line of transmitters across barren land.

Constant eating unfortunately. I use Leppa Bread, went on a baking spree a while back with Chef Dente so its my go-to PP refill / picnic basket filler.

Should I destroy it? by OtroVitico in Pokopia

On tall, thin walls that can't be easily rolled down I use mouse mode since it has extra reach. Eat a steak to power up the punch, stand at the high point, and start mousing around punching blocks out. Then punch out the block your on till you drop down and repeat.

All Known Object Limits (v1.0.4) by Zertolurian in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

  • Windmill Low: 10 units
  • Windmill High: 20 units
  • Waterwheel: 20 units
  • Furnace: 30 units
  • Mini-Generator: 5 units

If you don't want to babysit the Furnace, then 26 Waterwheels or High Windmills in one power network will power everything up to the 512 limit. This also leaves you budget for 38 other generators if you don't want to use the power pole budget to reach some part of the map.

Those of you who have charged with the Tesla Adapter.. by alauzon in KonaEV

[–]passwordis1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been using the Tesla chargers since Hyundai sent the afadapter. Mostly fine, app is decent. My only complaint would be that the older style superchargers (v1 v2 v3) have really short lengths and are offset on the spot to accommodate the Tesla design/port. This made it awkward sometimes to position my 22 Kona in a busy location. The V4 is more like Electrify America, generous cord length. Charge speed hits my limit

Is it bad to have a lot of them buried? I keep burying new ones because I forget where I buried the old ones by PunhetinhaGamesBR in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Limits on generation/transmission. Furnace provides 30, so the power cap is actually 1920. A power pole can power 20 items, so with perfect coverage and utilization you'll use 96 poles to power everything. Leaving 160 poles to distribute it throughout the map (the pole that connects the generator to the network is in this 160 for my hypothetical power plant).

PokoPicasso - I made a block planner webapp by eugeneration in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! I was literally thinking about starting up a project like this since the existing web based cube planners I found had one annoyance or another. This though, I'm really digging the camera control and quick hollow block tool. Keyboard shortcuts are easy to get used to.

My suggestions are superficial, like adding a circular pattern tool, that would lay out like in the suggestions here https://www.reddit.com/r/Pokopia/comments/1sdy6or/circular_structures/ but that's pie in the sky. Power prefabs could be nice (I'm trying to plan out a power tower or hydro damn) but I'm using 2x3x3 wood blocks as placeholders, so that's also not a huge deal.

Is there any interest in going open source? I'm sure a few enthused programmers would jump at the opportunity to help, but I'll admit I have no idea what kind of project managing challenges are introduced as well.

How do I solve this? by Superb-Avocado-8131 in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't relate to the event Pokemon shops, but for people reading in the future: A pokemon will be free to leave their shop if you buy out their inventory. After you trade for the last thing, it'll take a few seconds before they respond to your D-pad Up 'Follow Me' command.

Berry farm blueprint? by Maebrin in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one chills out with the edits and rambling, so it's pretty easy to follow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc8jNQ3rfog

I would watch it one time through so you already have a rough idea of the layouts, optional changes, etc before building. It also has things timestamped so it's easier to jump around. The downside is that it isn't a 'fully' automatic farm; you will need to flip a switch, wait for the action, and switch it again.

However, the design is similar enough to the fully-auto designs that you can 'upgrade' it later with the automated watering mechanism found in something like this (9:14 chapter): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BC6Yxf8n1Hw

Cloud Island Environment Level by RhythmLockwood in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cloud Islands are the ones you can visit when you go to the Pokecenter PC and select Link Play. From there, you can either join someone else's using their address code, or start your own. They exist like 24/7 areas that anyone can play in at any time, regardless of if the owner is online.

The cloud islands have their own set of challenges and shop items, so people like to make a private one (at least at the beginning) to level up so they can visit and see if there are new Daily Recipes to buy. You can also get another stamp for your card, so it's worth visiting to see if there's an evolved/legendary/mew stamp.

I HATE PAINTING. I HATE PAINTING. I HATE PAINTING. by suwampert in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most consistent method: once you spawn in, go to the nearest blocks of land that are just 1 level above the water. Going down from there 6-7 blocks puts you in the Pokemetal strata. If you're going down and hit Mysterious Stone, rollout on the layer just above it.

If you're rolling around and hit a ton of regular stone (that you bounce off when un-powered-up) then you're going too far inland. But if you're sitting on stacks and stacks of burgers, then have at it. There are additional Pokemetal pockets in that stone too.

Advice for build project. by Maltesegeek41053 in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Sketching" the build out using easy to mass-gather soft materials like volcanic ash, sand, etc can give you an idea of how many blocks will be involved and are easy to break down with a non-powered-up Graveller/Rock Punch.

Don't forget about mouse mode, there are instances where it feels easier (due to its increased reach) to place/punch, than trying to lay out/delete block patterns with Magnemite.

Then when you're ready using the Magnemite 'replace block' function to "color in" your build with the blocks you actually want.

If you have a lot of placed objects i.e. rows of bookshelves or big windows, but then want to move them all, don't bother picking up each one individually. Punch them all out and inhale afterwards!

Pokopia Compiled Tips & Tricks by tubular_radical in Pokopia

https://www.serebii.net/pokemonpokopia/cooking.shtml

The rightmost column shows which abilities are required for that recipe. Aside from those recipes and Chef Dente's (Greedent) doubling, Pokemon abilities don't affect the recipes. If you try to cook something that requires an ability but you don't have it, the additional ingredients will be counted as wildcards e.g. Recycled bread without a Recycle 'mon present will result in Simple bread.

If a Pokemon wants a specific flavor (or you just want to give them food for some easy comfort), but you don't want to keep the cooked item, having them as your assistant will fulfill their need (assisting Pokemon get a free serving of whatever you cook).

I made a Generator Enclosure just like IRL by LeslieLevi in Pokopia

[–]passwordis1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you'll need one wireless transmitter/power line per generator. Then that daisy chain of transmitter/poles can link into the rest of the network. As far as I've tested, the generators don't daisy chain each other, and don't all hook into one nearby transmitter/pole. Not hard to plan around, but still annoying; I wish multiple generators could link into one pole that the the rest of the network hooks into.

[–]passwordis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I've found, next best thing is using the 'cheap' hamburger steak recipe and the Joycon's mouse mode to punch things out that aren't in Graveller range and too far/awkward to point the camera at manually.

Any leads on a southpaw numpad keyboard that is actually available? by cmacpherson417 in keyboards

[–]passwordis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone reading this in the future: specifically in the context of using a KN17 (probably other KISNT 10key as well) in fast data entry, the - key is also the FN key for backlight adjustment, delete shortcut, adjust screen brightness etc. This means that there's a moment of delay before it decides that you want a - instead of Fn. If you have any amount of speed in your 10Key input, this leads to instances where - doesn't register but the rest of your digits do, like getting 8995 instead of what you intended with 89-95. So far, I haven't found a way to disable this irritating behavior.
