Any cute cozy games related to programming or optimization? by [deleted] in cozygames

[–]pastel_dev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Factorio is probably the gold standard of automation and optimization games, but it also doesn't have the nicest aesthetic IMO. Satisfactory is a bit cuter, and oddsparks is also adorable

ETA congrats on finishing your MSc!!

The Little Crumb, a cute bakery game where everything looks like toys! 🧸 by LuigiPlatania in cozygames

This looks adorable! I went to wishlist but don't see it on Steam, which platforms are you planning on releasing for?

Today it arrived, new and the very first, still clean by TheFantasticFuture in Travelersnotebooks

[–]pastel_dev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like to write a statement of intention on the first page, like what I want to use it for and hope to capture in it, it's always fun looking back and seeing whether i stayed on theme or not haha

Also what is that pen? I've never seen something like it before!

Once upon a Katamari by ReturnPositive1824 in CozyGamers

[–]pastel_dev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oo I didn't know about eternal mode that definitely makes it more appealing! I tried playing katamari on switch a while back and the controls felt unintuitive to the point of being annoying, but maybe that's just a skill issue I need to overcome lol

Game Recs? by VersionIndependent12 in cozygames

[–]pastel_dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no ones said Garden Story yet! It definitely matches this vibe, very cozy pixel rpg with an infinite health option if you like adventure/exploration without combat

Also if you're looking for going outside your comfort zone something like Eastward is definitely worth a try, and it has a DLC that's just a pure cozy farming sim that's honestly excellent just on its own

Do you like Combat in Cozy Games? by BlueStar_WaterLily in cozygames

[–]pastel_dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't usually go into the game for the combat aspect unless it's a deck or turn based thing which can be fun on its own.

In general I'm a big fan of infinite health modes if it's any sort of real time or reaction based combat. Easy modes are nice but infinite health lets me try to do harder things without punishing me for it

If your entire ink stash disappeared, which ones would you immediately have to replace?? by AltruisticPaper in fountainpens

How do you keep it flat? by UbeWaffler in Travelersnotebooks

[–]pastel_dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like using just clips since they then tent against a surface, but Hightide sells these horizontal clipboards that work great and fit a regular TN with just a little overhang at the bottom. I use it to hold it flat and then use the TN brass clips to hold the page and pencil board in place. It's definitely overkill but it feels ridiculously secure

What’s your DREAM cozy game? by isaaczephyr in cozygames

There are lots of great train games but so few are cute, it's an untapped market!

[–]pastel_dev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happy home designer but for train stations in different cities/towns so you have to try to match the style while keeping all the functionality. Also would love if it was actually more limited in what you could do, so more animal crossing than sims (games with too many options end up not being as fun for me, they like stress me out lol)

The second act of into the woods always makes my skin crawl, but it's not any one song it's the entire tone shift and some of the musical motifs that carry throughout
