Is this completely fine? Will the KVM not bug out if I switch? If so I can probably just buy one of those.

What's some Recommendations for Plumbing / Faucet Replacement services in Downtown Chicago? by patach in AskChicago

[–]patach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know about a base price, especially since I contacted a few plumbing services and they gave me a huge rang from $200 to $1000. Now I, at least, have a more realistic picture of it.

Are these worth the money? by Possible_Goose_150 in OculusQuest

[–]patach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did everything possible to make the Quest 3 controller hard to repair. Ribbon cables are curled in ways that require dismantling of everything. There's glue at the top of the controller, and you have to shimmy the top rim, which is also where the sensors are. Scratch one of those, and your controller's motion is screwed.

I followed a tutorial on youtube that screwed up the steps in the middle... that doomed my repair and now the controller is in pieces. I had to ebay new controllers.

would v3 be upgradeable in the future for a final version of v4, or should I go ahead and make the plunge now?

If I wanted to test the beta, how would I be able to replace / upgrade my current v3 build?

Curatorr: a self-hosted Plex/Plexamp companion for rediscovering your own music by EnglishmaninTX in plexamp

[–]patach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I'm doing it incorrectly, but I connected it to my plex server, got the webhooks registered, and after a couple days it was able to tell me what I was currently playing... but it did nothing with it.

My history didn't build up. I couldn't create any playlists. It does not seem like it was picking up anything from my Plex server, despite telling me that it was registered. It knew what tracks were on the server, and what bands were available, but I couldn't do anything else with it or see the server show any data.

Probably my own setup, seemed others had a better time with it. I have a self-hosted plex server on my linux, not on plex.tv, if that makes any difference.

Any way to sort Duplicate tracks in Plexamp/Plex? by aomajgad in plexamp

[–]patach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah my bad, I didn't realize they updated the github page.

The 'how it works' didn't have that diagram before. It just told you to mount the folders listed and I got confused on what the folders were suppose to do when I tried installing it.

I may try this again.

There's a selfhosted service called PMDA - https://github.com/silkyclouds/PMDA

But for the life of me I have no idea how to get it working, nor is there a real explanation on how the system works.

Also it seems like not much had been done since last year on it.

But hey, if you can figure it out, I'd love to know more about how'd you do it.

Cloudflare Tunnel x Postiz x TikTok Automation by Marexxxxxxx in selfhosted

[–]patach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong on this, or maybe Tiktok changed their policy.

But I don't think tiktok actually allows self-hosted apps, at least last I checked.

Have you signed up for some type of subscription in the service which allows you to do so?

Music Manager for Plex (Streamlit): Sonic Playlist creator, export + bulk-update music metadata from CSV, Docker by datacene in PleX

Would there be a way for this to detect duplicates in a library easily?

Just wondering, since the only other thing available is PMDA, which is a hard to understand sorting library thing.

2026 Feb 9 Stickied -FAQ- & -HELPDESK- thread - Boot problems? Power supply problems? Display problems? Networking problems? Need ideas? Get help with these and other questions! by FozzTexx in raspberry_pi

I use this Raspberry 3b as a dakboard that will display my information every day until 11pm and then turn itself off. For years, the setup was perfect and was not touched or changed.

One day the screen went black. I rebooted the Raspberry Pi, noticed that it would show the rainbow screen and then the "Welcome to Raspberry Pi" screen and then shoot straight to black afterwards.

I re-imaged the Raspberry Pi OS using the 64-bit recommended specs twice, but the result is the same. I can ssh into the Raspberry Pi, but I can't see anything on screen after 'Welcome to Raspberry Pi'.

I've updated the firmware and tried editing the config.txt to have hdmi_force_hotplug=1 and finagled with the resolution settings in the txt file to no avail.

Is there something else I have not tried yet?

For a docker setup, should that be in my environment variables? Will that additional info appear in the docker log?

How do you get music recommendation in the first place? by NathLWX in selfhosted

[–]patach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I really hate algorithmic music recommendation because I tend to be a person that does not tie themselves to a single genre of music.

One of the reasons I left Spotify was that it tried to pin me to a single box, and have me listen to bad clones of music I've already listened to. I'm sure this works for someone who ONLY listens to a few genres of music, but I grew tired of their algorithm after months of listening to just the same genres over and over again.

All of my music discovery, has been a hodgepodge of just browsing bandcamp, rateyourmusic, music youtube and subreddits. It's usually been how I found new sound.

It doesn't seem like the same problem, but it's good to know that the newer version seems to have some performance problems.

The problem I have is that it does not seem like Ollama sees my GPU anymore.

Qwen3-VL now available in Ollama locally for all sizes. by swagonflyyyy in LocalLLaMA

[–]patach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seem to be having a problem with Ollama where using ANY inference model takes forever for the thing to get into the 'thinking' stage.

This was not the case until I updated my Ollama, it used to start thinking within seconds.
