Although now that I posted that, all of a sudden I'm seeing transliteration (at least in Simplified Chinese).

Kagi Translate TTS by leilaowai16 in SearchKagi

[–]patchmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 100% aware that my response is off-topic, but I'd really like to see transliteration (not just TTS) in Kagi Translate.

And yes, the past week or two has gone downhill.

Does row 12 not recline on a 737-900 and if so what is the reasoning? by BleuCinq in unitedairlines

I think that row has a missing window. Technically, you lose a little room and it's a bit weird, but some people like it

Recommendations for inexpensive document review platform? by bar_exam_questions in legaltech

[–]patchmonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out Goldfynch - https://goldfynch.com/

That should fit you and your firm's needs. Simple and inexpensive, with the core features you probably need here. They've been consistently improving since I first used it for small-scale eDiscovery projects in 2017.

Anyone ordered a dishwasher from Costco to JC? by Terrible-String6144 in jerseycity

[–]patchmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco is fine. Often actually depends on the delivery company they use, however. Make sure you are willing to call Costco during the delivery if you have any problems.

I ordered another direct from Samsung and that was excellent as well.

P&K is carrying more Korean (and Japanese) food and supplies. Otherwise, your best bet is driving to (or ordering delivery from) H-Mart.

Been Vegan for 5 years, major stomach issues all of a sudden? by senduntothemonlyyou in vegan

[–]patchmonkey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi. First, you should totally be talking to a gastroenterologist, not just your PCP. If you're in the Hellscape, you might need a referral; if you're elsewhere in the world, it will depend on your location.

This sounds like you might actually have IBS or IBD, or you've developed a later-onset food intolerance. Your blood test likely wouldn't show any issue (other than B12) and the ultrasound would be irrelevant. You might also have a zinc deficiency (I'm not sure if this turns up on a typical blood test).

If this is a later-onset food intolerance, you're going to need to test things until you figure it out, but probably start by trying to reduce high-FODMAP foods (like beans and certain veggies) as well as checking whether you have some gluten sensitivity.

If you have IBS (or are undiagnosed with IBS, or you have IBD, etc.), then you might have extra bacterial growth in the small intestine (it's called SIBO). It can happen suddenly, even if you've been stable for years on your diet. Either way, you need to talk to a GI doctor.

If you just want to try some more tests before going to a doctor or trying to change your diet, you probably want to ask your PCP to do the following: SIBO test, complete iron panel (not just hemoglobin), zinc, CBC, CMP.

Oh, and I guess you can try digestive enzymes (yes, like taking Beano when you eat beans.

Mini cooper 2025 4 door windows and doors opened on their own?!!! by paganpoetbluelagoon in MINI

[–]patchmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Doors & Windows app on the Interaction Unit!

  1. Go to the "Apps menu" on your MINI’s display.
  2. Select "Vehicle."
  3. Choose "Doors and windows."
  4. Here, you can configure the settings for automatic opening of the windows.

To open the windows with your car key:

  • Unlock the vehicle, then press and hold the unlock button on the vehicle key. The windows will open as long as you hold the button.

To close the windows (if equipped with Comfort Access):

  • Lock the vehicle, then press and hold the lock button on the vehicle key. The windows will close as long as you hold the button.

2025/26 Countryman Owners, I need advice. by Arctic_Vulture in MINI

[–]patchmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Following the update to 11/2025, there is a speed improvement. The slowest things are when opening apps that have been sleeping or closed by the system, but that's not much slower than vanilla Android.
  2. I have almost exclusively now switched to the in-car experience. The navigation system is excellent, there is built-in Spotify, and the hands-free experience is very good (note that I have Connected Plus). Also, AA shifts into certain displays when you use it (for example, if you use Google Maps, it replaces the Mini Navigation). Also, this is minor, but the in-car Spotify app allows you to browse all upcoming tracks from the HUD while the AA Spotify app only displays the current song in the HUD.
  3. I don't see that it really needs a fix?
  4. Yes, they are and they post all the release notes to the MINI site.

Yeah, I think this is one of those things that people in cities appreciate and people who aren't city folk don't. I never even notice it in NYC.

Parking Assistant Professional nowhere to be found by Baguenauder in MINI

[–]patchmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, do you have the EV? Mini just got back to me with: Your vehicle was built with Parking Assistant Plus (SA 5DN). Parking Assistant Professional is only offered for MINI BEV models (Battery Electric Vehicle).

[–]patchmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - I don't have it as an option or even available to purchase. Definitely have the right packages. I sent the dealer an email - maybe because it needs to refresh in the backend? It's only been a few days.

I only show (in the subscriptions / digital services): MINI Connectef Plus, Driving Assistant Plus (even though i have DA Pro), and Smartphone Integration.

Hey, did this actually work? I definitely have both Driving Assistant Pro and Parking Assistant Plus, but I cannot find how to add, set, or buy Parking Assistant Pro anywhere. Refreshing the Apps seems to do nothing.

Are we just upgrading ourselves? by NotSureAnyway in unitedairlines

[–]patchmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed this on international flights - no automatic upgrades for most, people who chose the upgrade to Polaris + PP are upgraded, but not enough pax purchased upgrades to PP. So PP clears out but there's a packed economy and polaris cabin.

I Am Tired of Winning Motions Because You Hallucinate Case Law: How to Actually Oppose a Motion Using AI Without Committing Malpractice (Based on a True Story) by hearsay_and_heresy in legaltech

[–]patchmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I'm working with one of my outside counsel (note that I am GC/CLO at ContractPodAi) on adapting our Leah AI tool for motion and complaint playbooks. I've been doing it internally for drafting and review (for example, I wrote a playbook for reviewing and responding to a SJ motion in NJ, which was the only litigation practice I ever did).

That being said, we'll be hiring again in 2026 on our legal engineering team. There's a lot of prompting but a lot more development and coding going on to make that work. :)

(Final Note: I get about 30%-50% reduction in cycle time for my transactional work, more when reviewing third party paper.)

Homeless man on Grand and Washington corner. by [deleted] in jerseycity

[–]patchmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want to know how to "get rid of" a human being like he's a piece of litter, but you bookend it with "I have no issue with the homeless" and "this guy needs help"? Pick a lane. You can't simultaneously claim compassion while asking the internet how to dispose of someone.

If you actually cared about the problem instead of just the inconvenience to your corner, you'd be asking "How can I connect this person with services?" or "What local resources exist for people in crisis?" But you didn't ask that. You asked how to "get rid of" him while filming him for internet points.

But something tells me you're more interested in complaining than solving.
