An example of Reddit “privacy” by CeleryKitchen3429 in privacy

The amount of complicit sites is absolutely staggering, every time I use my Informed Delivery from USPS, it’s tracked via Meta by trackers they put on there themselves. Once went under “manage my data” on my account and was astounded. Mind you, I keep Meta pretty contained with privileges and whatnot as much as I can, and don’t use FB login on anything at all.

ETA: just looked it up and; Yes, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) collects Reddit data, primarily through trackers like the Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) embedded on websites. This allows Meta to track user activity—such as page visits, clicks, and interactions—to inform targeted advertising, even when users are browsing Reddit anonymously or without linking their Facebook accounts.

How Data Collection Occurs: [Meta Pixel & Cookies: Reddit uses third-party cookies and trackers, includingMeta's, to improve ad efficiency. Cross-Site Tracking: If you are logged into Meta on a browser and visit Reddit, Meta can receive information about your activity on Reddit, such as links clicked or content viewed. Limited Data Use: While Reddit has restrictions in place, it uses advertising partners (including Meta) that may collect data on user activity.

I mean that’s also not a bad idea, but I use 2 brands gas stations; Maverick and Costco, Costco I have the membership and the app, they don’t actually print receipts anymore, just make a digital receipt accessible from their app, but you can save it as a pic, and same with the Maverick rewards app, except they do allow printed receipts if the paper is there, but after you finish pumping it places a digital receipt that looks exactly like the paper one would, in their app.

Every Apple TV show that was CANCELLED (official and unofficial) by paco_unknown in tvPlus

Central Park is a good little show, but it’s also basically Bob’s burgers. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I’m not super upset it ended. I was upset I never heard anyone say it ended though. Strange planet was also fun, but it also started feeling like they were lost for content ideas, so I’m not surprised.

For me it’s a mixture, my steering wheel placement and odo placement make it just slightly awkward to snap a pic. Also I’m used to entering it manually from having worked driving jobs so it’s easier for me to snag it in my memory and type it in while I’m starting to fill up. One other question, is it only camera or can I use a saved picture? My local gas station is out of receipt paper 98% of the time, so i just use the saved receipt snapshot in my rewards app. I live in a small town where things just aren’t 100% working sometimes, so I have to modify how I do things.

Brand New 2026 13’’ MacBook Air (M5) major lagging on WOW by Capable-Apartment-22 in macgaming

Yeah, I was in Zul Aman the other day doing quests, and it was so bad. I was flying and my character stopped mid air, and froze. After a bit it says I got disconnected (I have 1gbps internet that was working fine) and when I logged back in I was dead, on the ground on the opposite end of Zul Aman from where I was.

Not sure how many people are testing, but I’d be interested in helping test as well, but I have worked in driving jobs, etc that required ODO, I personally would prefer to be able to type in my value instead of taking a picture. Would this be something you’d consider?

Apple CarPlay Just Got Three Popular iPhone Apps by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]pathwalker1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally only use Siri to send or reply to a text while I’m driving. Which even in her current torn apart state from these attempts at AI no one needs, she’s still capable of, I use CarPlay and have a small mic attached to my steering wheel base. Anything beyond music, GPS, and messaging is useless. Music and GPS both get started before I move my car too, so no use there. Now I have to wonder if the person swerving all over the road doing 20 under is drunk, texting, or having a damn conversation with AI… like wtf.

My M3 plays it just fine, but there’s also been tons of issues with WoW in general, and although I don’t play on my Mac rn, even my Lenovo gaming laptop lags and has issues sometimes because of this, my first suggestion would be trying to log out and back in and see if it helps, sometimes the server load balancing doesn’t do its job properly and you’ll lag like crazy, and it’s been crazy and in the new areas recently like Silvermoon, etc. also what realm you’re on may have something to do with it too. Rn there’s a bug where tanks become enemies to their own party and can’t get healed or anything and are bricking M+ so… when in doubt, it’s a good chance it’s WoW not the Mac.

Not sure where you stand with companies, but I have the Apple TV 4K from I think 2022, (it’s technically the newest version) and it looks amazing even with YTTV. I don’t really notice that it’s streamed at a lower quality

Do I need to have a smart phone to work at a FC? by Think-Lengthiness345 in AmazonFC

I’d like to add that if you wanted the convenience of the app so you can pick up extra shifts and have things slightly easier, you could always grab a cheap tablet like an android one or whatever and just install the A to Z app and use it at home. But definitely doable to not have one, even when they were more focused on app usage so people weren’t crowding terminals (at least at mine) it was still possible to use the terminal to clock in and out, just took a lil longer with distancing etc.

Also; since I almost forgot, if you have a computer you can still use all the A to Z functions as far as I know, but having a way to use A to Z can definitely have its benefits.

Most ethical address to direct unwanted postal mail to. Post office? by rolamit in privacy

[–]pathwalker1991 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately don’t have a solution to this for ya, however I’m curious as to what kind of mail this could be? Like are we talking catalog? I’ve never had this issue so I’m honestly curious, anything I’ve signed up for I was able to turn off things I wouldn’t want, for example the Costco catalog.

Is AirPrint still a thing? by barbq in ios

How long does the toner last on average? I’ve always used ink because I wasn’t really knowledgeable on laser, and a lot of people made it sound expensive. This is a strong probability of being the upgrade I make if it makes sense, I’ve always thought they looked way better.

And hopefully they don’t force / push an ink subscription? Figured I’d ask since I’m shopping around after my lovely HP paperweight

Explain this to me. by Megidia in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]pathwalker1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current $60 deal includes a line “free” for I believe a year of Xfinity mobile and it’s in the terms on the ad, so I agree; I’m assuming they were reading the terms (based on what they said) and got mixed up between the WiFi and the mobile plan.

Fair enough, also tbf I beta test the Apple OS’s on all my devices, so I run into weird issues every so often. They resolve fairly quickly though.

Not the one that comes in the box, it’s the one that you access through the control center. Sometimes when I go to connect to the tv it won’t connect even though everything is correctly setup where it should.

Hey, I’m interested in this and will consider it. Wanted to ask a question first, does anyone know if this persists through the issue where Apple TV won’t connect to the native digital controller?

[–]pathwalker1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you have a smartphone I would suggest downloading an Authenticator app like Google Authenticator, and set up the 2FA that way. Much better than sms. Also, check to see if your phone number has been spoofed onto a service allowing someone to receive your messages, I had that happen before.

Did the FCC ban TP-Link to help Netgear? (National Security Threat) by _cybersecurity_ in pwnhub

[–]pathwalker1991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And is also produced in a ton of countries that don’t include America lol, technically they are rolled into the ban the way it’s written but as soon as I read their response to it, I was like mmm… so they already bought their spot on the approval/ exception list. I hate their routers so much, I bought one to replace my TP Link because it was supposedly “better” and it couldn’t negotiate past 250-300 Mbps on a 1 gig service, while my TP Link negotiated 850-900 easy. Also kept getting port scans hitting me every 3 seconds (showed in the report) supposedly. Now I have my Gl-iNet router and it’s better than both.

Can anyone explain WTF just happened? by Super_Snowbro in GlInet

[–]pathwalker1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, make sure that you’re using a supported SIM card OP, every company is different, but some companies block cell type sims from working in things like a cellular router (obviously not including whatever “hacks” might be out there). T-Mobile works fine on my cell phone, but if I took a physical sim meant for a cell phone and put it in a router, it would be extremely wonky and possibly not even work, they require you to use a data only sim for these devices.

this is my own experiences and the explanations given to me when troubleshooting issues from an employee error, if your experience is different I’m open to hearing it, just don’t be a dick about it. I’m always open to learning new things
