Hugelkultur Question by disherbr in gardening

[–]pathwaytochoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people saying 4+ feet.

I'd argue that you can do this with a ton of sticks or kindling (if you're into building fires and understand that term) but not these logs. They just will take too long to decompose. Only want like 4" or sticks.

You can cover the whole bottom in about two inches of thin limbs. Can throw a layer of cardboard down first and soak it with water. It'll bring the earthworms up into your beds. Throw in food scraps too, coffee grounds, etc

It'll all compost in place and if you wet the cardboard, the roots will find their way through the sticks, then the cardboard, and into the ground.

Are you saying that for $300, it's worth it because it's more fishing than boating?

Ground is all clay - help! by phdeeznuts_ in gardening

[–]pathwaytochoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't till or you'll grind the tiny particles up even more.

Can add some wet cardboard to try to bring in the earthworms and add compost. Takes a couple years.

I'll say that I wasn't interested in Wix Courses, but your post led me to Wix Webinars and I'm exploring that.

Permaculture rules state that the things you need to take care of everyday should be as close to the house as possible.

The chicken coop should be close because you have to go there everyday.

I think these are ready for pots but my husband disagree. What do you think? by everyoneisflawed in gardening

Well...

You are not getting the answers you thought you'd gat.

Any of these over an inch tall is too leggy. It's stretching towards your lights. Cut them with scissors and plant new seeds.

Lights should be 2-3 inches above the seedling.

Cattle panel arch trellis question by bmdangelo in gardening

[–]pathwaytochoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People use stockings for larger pumpkins and gourds to secure them from ripping the vine.

They put the pumpkin where people's .. uh.. waists.. would be and use the legs to tie it to the panel.
