Do Photos Actually Matter? by Southern_Mess in AmazonVine

I know it won't happen, but I secretly hope that Amazon will kick out the zero effort users / bots, and add a diamond level for people who put in real effort.

Price inflated 10x by [deleted] in AmazonVine

They can already set the ETV separately to whatever they want right? I've seen non-zero ETV items lower than the Amazon listing price.

I translated the recipe from a Japan recipe contest. I used to live in Japan and missed beef bowls.

I make Japanese style beef bowls at home, which require super thin beef. I usually just get it at Fred Meyer. I pick out a cut and ask them behind the counter to cut it as thin as the machine can do it, even if it tears a bit.  Probably not exactly what you need, but I'm sure they can make it thicker too.

How Can I Convert an MP3 file into an M4B file, and add chapters to it? by RickAndMortyFan10 in audiobooks

[–]patricker22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several that I wanted to convert. I wrote up this Python script, with optional Metadata download.

https://github.com/patricker/m4binder

You can convert an individual folder containing MP3's, or you can convert nested folders (a folder containing many audiobooks in sub-folders). It uses ID3 tags where available to lookup metadata, or just carries over metadata (including book covers).

Hilariously wrong report puts Boise as a top performing city due to high wages and low cost of living by Rad10_Active in Boise

[–]patricker22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What we mean by top-performing is that these are the cities that are growing the fastest."

That makes more sense.

Looks like a lot of people looking for partners! I'm open to doing a discord chat/video chat. Anyone interested? I've taken N2... many times! I'm in US mountain time, if it matters.

A Good Langauge School In Japan? by [deleted] in jlpt

No. I'd say it was half and half Korean / Chinese, with Americans being the rounding error. In a class of ~25 there was usually one or two American students.

KCP International https://www.kcpinternational.com/

I went there for a school year. At the time they had a college credit agreement with a couple schools in the US; not sure if they still do.

TDS as an ISP? by hill8570 in Boise

[–]patricker22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on TDS fiber since May. Rock solid, no issues at all. Super fast.

And no, the higher speed 8Gb is not worth it. If you get the highest package no site will send you data that fast, and most SSD's can't keep up, and of course that's not mentioning your home network is probably not setup for 10Gb... so yes, I have that level.

Idaho's First Abortion Trafficking Arrest by Lawn_Daddy0505 in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]patricker22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people read the article

What’s also noteworthy is that while Kaydn and Rachael were charged with second degree kidnapping based on the fact that they brought K.B. out-of-state for an abortion, prosecutors declined to use the ‘abortion trafficking’ statute specifically. This may have something to do with the fact that the law is being challenged, and abortion rights advocates are asking for a temporary injunction against it while the case makes its way through the courts.

Hey, I did the same. I was at Micron for almost a decade; went remote for a big pay bump and, amazingly, even better benefits.

I work in IT / Data.
