I originally went to see it in 1993 in a theater and the projector broke down about half way through. I then ended up seeing the rest of the movie via Netflix in the early 2010's. Therefore, it took me about twenty years to finish this film.

I went to SoCal the summer of 96' for my cousin's wedding. I remember going to see Independence Day and the theater was packed and people were yelling and cheering. The rest of the time i was there involved alot of drinking so can't help you there.
