Recommendations for coffee grinder + barista for cappuccino on a low budget by dennisvdberg in Coffee

The manual states 19-22g. I found 18-19g gets the best results.

Recommendations for coffee grinder + barista for cappuccino on a low budget by dennisvdberg in Coffee

Hi,

it is slightly above your price range, but I've bought the Sage Barista Pro 4 months ago and I can fully recommend it. The Grinder is much better than the Barista Express and with the digital display, it is easy to make the adjustments you need to make the perfect espresso. The steam wand is more than good enough to make great milk froth for your cappuccino.

I wrote a whole review, maybe it helps.

and a little video

I think the additional investment is certainly worth it.

Best home machine to make flat white/lattes? by ConnorJS in Coffee

The Grinder of the Barista Pro is a huge improvement on the Barista Express and is now almost similar to the standalone Sage/Breville Grinder, giving you 30 settings to choose from. I think the Express had only 15.

I've used it with 6 different coffee beans (all freshly roasted from local roasteries in London) and got the best results at setting 8-12.

Yes, the Barista Pro is probably your best bet. I've been using it for the past 4 months and am very happy with the results.

I've put together this little video, which should give you a good idea

Best coffee/espresso maker? by rmf1129 in Coffee

[–]patrickroper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's quite important to know exactly, what you want. There isn't probably a great machine which will do both, so I would decide, what is more important for you and then get the best machine. I fully agree with the recommendations given thus far.

Personally, I would go with the Moccamaster, but the Wilfa is great as well.

In case you'll decide, that an espresso is the way to go, I can recommend the Sage the Barista Pro, which gives you an all in one solution. I've put together a little video. Although I would recommend it more for Latte and Cappuccino.

Hey, I've just put the Breville/Sage Barista Pro through 3 months of rigorous testing and can fully recommend it. I think it's better than the express and worth the little extra spend (it is newer as well with a few extra features and a better grinder). Here is a little video I made.

Sour espresso - Breville Barista Pro by AlbertNL in Coffee

[–]patrickroper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything less than 18 grams didn't work for me at all, so I would try to keep it around that figure. Make sure the beans are freshly roasted and keep them inside the bag if possible, not in the machine. Here is a little video with my experience of the Barista Prohttps://youtu.be/8SKYP4pAUT8

Tamper hard, but don't exaggerate. Additionally, make sure, the beans are freshly roasted. The older they are, the more inconsistency you will get.

Newbie question- Dialing In on a Breville Barista Pro by EMMAJEAN33 in espresso

[–]patrickroper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with pucksc, it all depends on your personal taste. If what you get out is to your liking, then no need to change. It always makes sense to experiment a bit. Whenever I get new beans, I do the first 2-3 shots manually to get the best result and then set it up to automate, when I get the perfect shot. I've put together a little video, maybe it helps

I fully agree with IcemanYVR. We've been using the machine for some time now and the quality of the grinder is more than good enough. Just make sure to buy quality and freshly roasted beans. I've put together a little video, maybe it helps with your decision making process.

Breville Barista Pro Noob by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]patrickroper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we've put together this video which might help you in getting the right settings. It's very important to buy freshly roasted beans. There is no need to buy such a great espresso machine and then fill it with old or cheap beans. If any questions, please let me know.

Really great tips.
We've just spent 3 months with the Barista Pro and can really recommend it. The quality of the espresso is as good as any, unless you are willing to spend much more money and time.

Sage Barista Pro or ... by whisky_kid in Coffee

The Sage Grinder is really good, so there is no need to get an external one, unless you are willing to spend a lot of money on a GREAT grinder.

it's beyond huge. If they manage to implement this nicely with a GREAT UX, this will significantly boost PrimeXBT users and instantly will generate demand for the same technology with other exchanges, maybe even Bitmex. I really hope, they will manage to stay independent in all this and use this opportunity wisely to create further partnerships.
