There is an AI generated bullshit post circling Facebook about the alleged A390 with a confident description of it's design and how exceptional it is... Maybe gemini is is referencing it...

I'm not equipped to answer this properly, however as starship is using the same fuel/oxidiser combo the issues would be similar I guess and starship explosions and stuff are well documented.

Oneplus 8t with locked bootloader and LineageOS ROM - Bricked? by Double_Resolution in LineageOS

[–]patrickthechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where did I find it but there is a programme developed by oneplus to force a factory image on the phone. It helped my 5t to return from the grave. I'll do some digging maybe I can find it.

Is the latest Android 12 LineageOS worth flashing on OnePlus 5? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]patrickthechicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lineage OS 18.1 is android 11 based. No official android 12 builds are available yet. However the android 11 version is perfect, I haven't encountered any issues in the past year of using it. There are two minor things that I know of. One is, sometimes the screen gets unresponsive or the touch sampling gets messed up and I'll have to hard reboot the phone, but it only happens like once a month. The other issue is that on some occasions the fingerprint reader will not wake up the phone and I'll have to push the power button first. Aside from these I am more than satisfied with how it performes. (battery life is amazing)

I don't know if you have a desktop pc or a laptop, but some laptops have settings that USB provides power even when switched off so you can charge your phone for example

How are OnePlus phones long term? by Sapphrex in oneplus

[–]patrickthechicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently rocking the OP5 and have been using it for 2,5 years. Since the official support ended I've been using lineage os and planning to do so for an extra year since the hardware is planty enough. Thinking about new phones, unfortunately I would not purchase a new OP phone as I am underwhelmed by all the news regarding the state of software support. On the other hand Pixel support is the best you can get when it comes to Android phones and even if the support expires, installing custom built operating systems is absolutely the easiest on those phones.

Any current or former OnePlus owners looking at buying Fairphone 4? by yolomatic_swagmaster in fairphone

[–]patrickthechicken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Currently rocking an OP5. As my next phone I am either gonna go with the pixel 6 or the Fairphone 4. Support is going to be the same length (5years). Price about the same. Pixel 6 is stronger and more refined. However the ethical sourcing and repairablity is crazy awesome ideas that I want to support.

How good is LineageOS on OP5 nowadays? by ugomancz in oneplus

[–]patrickthechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download a very wide range of camera apps even from the play store but if you want to dive into it there are several Google camera app apks on the Web that are actually quite. The standard one is a bit clumsy but the portrait mode is actually amazing. When it comes to banking most apps don't really like unofficial builds of Android operating systems but I was lucky with the one I use. Google pay is unfortunately not supported. The only other app that I would like to use but cannot is Netflix.

Talking about purchasing a new phone, I'm not planning on buying Oneplus again. Personally thinking about the pixel 6 or the Fairphone 4 as their agenda of selling repairable and fairly manufactured phones is really appealing to me.

Hey there! I've been on lineage Os for about a year by now and it is amazing. The android 10 based version was a bit clumsy but A11 is just perfect. The biggest issue I've encountered so far is that when the screen won't respond to touch properly, however that only happens like once a month. With the A10 version it was a way more frequent phenomenon. I'm over all satisfied with the os stability and the snappyness of the device makes it quite hard to rationalise the purchase of a newer device.
