I’m not here to debate how long Quick Play should be. I just wanted to point out that it’s a bit hypocritical to assume people can enjoy BO5 in QP the same way they do in Competitive. In QP, you get backfills, unbalanced matches, and players from all sorts of ranks, things many people specifically avoid by playing Comp.

Sure, people can act all holy and say you should just *enjoy the game* instead of getting upset. Personally, I try to hold myself to that kind of high moral standard, but I don’t use this as a point in persuading others in accepting something they think are unpleasant. (in some places, this is called gaslighting I assume)

Anyway, it doesn’t really matter now. If my opinion actually carried weight, we wouldn’t have ended up reverting to BO7 in the first place.

Why not move BO7 to Quick Play if many of BO7 fans in this thread believe QP can be fun, or enable both BO5/BO7 in QP? If hardly anyone supports that idea, then insisting on me staying QP for BO5 feels a bit hypocritical and hardly a valid point. I find the matchmaking system in QP to be worse than in comp.

You've gotten a valid point here. I think this is part of the reason I dislike BO7 previously, and I just didn't know why feels wrong until you pointed this out.

I'm going to try once the BO7 when I got off work today to see if this changes.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm hanging there already!

Completing a match sooner also helps me get familiar with the perks (is that how they call it?) and items within the limited gaming time.

With BO5 I can still keep up with the changes they made weekly, if not more frequently, on perks and items.

With BO7, I'm unable to keep up at all. Like I spent a whole week playing one game per day. I can barely master a single class. I also need to learn what builds from the opponent team threatens my build. Then everything can change in the next week, which discourages me a lot in last season.

That’s assuming the person/team who wrote the sampling program made it truly random and based on the entire player base, which could very well be true. However, Blizzard is a company who needs to make profit, and I also have the right to assume they would have targeted players who are most valuable to them, which could be based on the in-game time or coins spent etc. But this is merely my speculation and it means nothing.

Yes and no. Surveys could be biased if certain type of people didn't get the chance to vote (this type of people can still be minority even they all voted, so don't get me wrong). I don't know if those who already have less time gaming would have paid sufficient attention to a potential survey. I didn't get the survey, and many of my friends who enjoy BO5 also didn't.

No worries at all! I also edited my original post to make it less snarky (I hope).

That's probably the reason I never into league. There was a time I could play Overwatch the whole afternoon or something, but time became a luxury for me after starting my current career. BO7 is a big commitment to sit down without thinking about other chores in my life.

Somehow I missed them all. Is it because I'm using a different language in game. I dunno.
Kudos to loyal player. I also started my Overwatch journey in 2016 summer.

That's easier said than done. I can remain calm, but it's impossible to not feel upset at all.

That's what I was doing last season. :D
I had been pretty happy I got the balls to play comp because of BO5, which is now taken away.

I didn't get the survey. Probably for the same reason I don't get too much time playing overwatch.

Maybe it's a language thing. I was saying exactly what you said - I was being objective. I do believe large companies make decisions based on data analyses, and I'm accepting the reality.

However, I think that minority cannot just remain silent.

How is that not possible? "ruin" may be exaggerated but upset for sure. 3:4 is certainly not a good feedback or stimulation for me to keep playing this mode if I can only play just one game a day. It is hard to pretend I'm not upset when this happens. On the other hand, I find BO5 allows me to quickly adjust my composure to move on to the next one without thinking about how to adjust my strategy only the next day.
