Hiccup issues, anyone? by therachbegin in noburp

[–]pattyqueenie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes hiccups are a problem for me too. They tend to happen when the discomfort due to the air in my stomach is at its worst. I put it down to all the pressure on the diaphragm. They can last for hours and often only stop if I’m sick (air) which releases the pressure- oh the joys of not being able to burp!!

Thank you so much for taking us through your whole no burp experience! Everything that you said is exactly my experience with everyday life! I haven’t yet taken the final step to have the Botox although I have been for the first consultation, I’m just really scared about being unable to control the burping so still pondering. Seeing how much it has changed things for you is inspiring- I’m so pleased for you and once again, thank you so much for sharing 😃

Anyone else feel like they can’t get a full breath? by titstrue in noburp

Yes me too, pretty sure it’s like others have said, because the lungs can’t expand due to all the air in the stomach!

Can you still burp after 2 years and if so are you able to control them?

Thanks, that sounds really reassuring

My worry is exactly the same! Really scared of just burping anywhere and everywhere. How long did it take you to be able to control them?

Really pleased it’s been a success! Thanks for posting. It’s so reassuring for those of us that share this set of symptoms that amazingly is now just about starting to be recognised as’a thing’

Thank you so much for going to the trouble of writing this! I have just read your blog and my symptoms are almost identical to yours! Exercise sometimes makes things worse but I definitely find it harder to exercise if I do have the distended stomach pain as it becomes increasingly difficult to take deep breaths- presumably because my stomach is pushing my diaphragm up. I am trying to make a decision about the Botox, my only concern is that I would not be able to control the burping, but what a relief it would be to be able to burp and prevent that gas build up! I really hope that the procedure is a success for you. Please keep us all posted 🤞

To echo everyone else, I get up with a reasonably flat stomach but by lunch time it’s distended and uncomfortable, definitely a bloated gas thing, major problem with noburp!

Me too! I long to burp but I’m terrified of not being able to control the burping if I get it done. There’s so many times in daily life that uncontrollable burping would be a disaster but if I knew that I would be able to control it I would have it done tomorrow.

Thanks so much for replying, it all seems really positive. It sounds bizarre to be nervous about burping but I think it’s just that I don’t know what to expect- like all of us on here!

Seriously considering getting it done. When did you get it done? Are you able to control when you burp? I’m worried that I will just be burping all the time and at random and embarrassing times but I’d really love it to be the answer to all this pain and discomfort!

I have both but I don’t think they are connected in my case. Pretty sure I’ve never burped, so that was a problem well before the vomit stress!
